Well posting here is a good start. There's a few guys here that have a TON of extra parts. If you can get the car for a good price, you don't mind the headaches of owning a 7, then get it. We're a pretty tight group and always up to helping another 7 to get back on the road.

Thanks for the greetings and I hope to see you around the area. I really don't mind messing around with the 7 and I think I'm up to the challenge. The car that I'm about to buy is being sold to me for $1200. I think its a pretty fair price for the car. I test drove the car today and everything seems good except for the problems I stated before. I just wish it had current stickers but I'll try to fix the problem first before having it inspected. Anyways, are there any shops around 757 that specializes on the 7s....

Unless the rest of the car is immaculate, I would try to push the price down a bit. Just emphasize the fact that it's hard to get 7's worked on this area. IMO. Anyone else have any input?

As for shops..... All of us work on our own cars as far as I know. Well, ok, Brian does alot of work for me, lol. He's Lovintha7 on this board.

Maybe we should get a group thing going in NoVa....

sadly there isnt any shops that mess with the rx7 .ive looked....and what i get from the shops, direct performance and mellinioum motorsports....there best guy knows less then i did .......sad.........

so your best bet is to ask us man, for help cause sadly rx7's are just to hard for people that deal with piston motors...

BTW VA think you can gift wrap that racing beat DP for me? lol i really need to hush my girl down she almost got me a noise polution ticket today haha. sounded like a machine gun....

VIR RoadTrip will be one or two of our 2006 events. I intend to get as many as possible going out to the spring MazdaDrivers event. I will try to set up a club area with a tent or something so there is something for the people running and the people not running. I will co-ordinate that with Ashraf, Eric, etc from the NC club. Then I will try to catch a race weekend for use to spectate probably late summer.

I wil be making another trip to the Shelby Club National Convention at VIR in the middle Summer. I also plan to run a couple of trials events if things go well for the year.

I also live in va beach by NAS Oceana... Other than the exhaust problem, there are some rust spots by the moonroof but thats not a problem to me. Interior wise, its needs new seats. Being a 1988 car, I know its going to show some age.

Ugh...2 pages worth of posts....See what happens when you go away for a couple days?

Yoshi, take the car to Peter Ferrel Supercars. (PFS) Rey bought the rotary side, and kept the name. Peter still owns the other half as far as I know. I'd love to have Steve Kan tune my car....but the motor's not even in it yet.

Dale (Phooka)is parting out his S5. Maybe he'll let some exhaust stuff go.

Anyways, I've been uber-busy lately, so sorry if someone's been trying to get ahold of me.

Yoshi, I would love to drive ANOTHER FD....any chance I have, I'll take it. Since I live real close now, getting there sometime early next week, or possibly next weekend seems possible.

Oh yea, i turned 24 Monday.

Happy birthday old man!!!!

The next official meet is next Saturday the 17th at Hooters on Battlefield Blvd.

Some of us are trying to get together this weekend to troubleshoot some issues
with a new FD owner that just moved to the area. I talked to Tim and he's availible anytime this weekend. I'm busy all day Saturday, so Sunday is better for me, as long as I can get a sitter, else majority rules.

I just looked at the meetup site and we have yet another FD owner in the area. I feel like I see more FD's now that FB's or FC's.....

next meet:

Hampton Roads Rotary Club

Just another simple gathering at a Hooters. Battlefield this time. It has worked better if we have it a little later now.

When:
Saturday, December 17, 2005, 7:00 PM

This is United Mazda RX7 Meetup Day
Where:
Hooters - Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake
801 Battlefield Blvd.
Chesapeake, VA 23320
757-549-8585

* Info
* Map/Directions

Notes:

Plenty of parking. If we happen to get good weather, then it is great, we can get around the cars and lie about how fast they all are :-) It is actually a great parking lot for these types of events. If it is very cold, we just go inside and warm up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note, As of the first of the year the meetup site is going to more thna double in cost. I am going to drop it. If someone else wants to pick it up, get with me and I will show you how.

My current plans are to pack it up with future events, and leave it. If someone comes across it, they will have contact informtion. I intend to set us up our own domain (something like hr-rotaryclub.com or ????? any ideas) and set up a simple forum site with a few other things. I will try to set up a calendar and duplicate some of the things the meetup site does, but I am sure I will not get everything. I will grab copies of all of the photos off the meetup and set up a photo album.

My plan is to set it up with google ads and a few other things intended to generate enough income to pay for the site. If everyone wants to make sure I am not going to get rich off of this I will make the $'s of the site public to anyone wanting to see them.....

How does this all sound to everyone?

nah, Dale uses excuses like "kids orchestra concerts" as excuses not to come because he really doesn't like any of us.
