CT Got pulled over by a douche CT trooper

So i left my home in MA this sunday morning to go look at a job in Fairfield, CT. As soon as i got to I84 i knew it was gonna be a tough ride. There were troopers crawling all over the friggin place.
A few miles down on 84 coming up a small hill right were the state police barracks is, this trooper just launched into the highway pointed at me and told me to pull over. This was the first time i have been pulled over in all my 7 years of driving and i gotta admit i was probably shaking a little bit. "no biggie" i thought to myself right, this guy is gonna see i got nothing wrong and probably let me go or give me warning or something.

I pulled over right away and he approached and did all the usual proceeding and informed me that he tagged me at 83 on a 65 zone, right. He comes back no longer than 2 minutes after and gives me my license and registration and a ticket for $294.00. I looked at the ticket and without even thinking i went "holy **** $294 are you serious?" And this is all he says: "Yup, if youre anywhere between 81 and 85 its $294.00 in CT state laws. Have a good day." The douche just turned his back, got inside his cruiser and literally backed up on 84 back to the same spot he was before. Probably to pull some other unlucky bastard over again.

Now i doubt he even tagged me because he merely got a glimpse of me before he launched his cruiser in the highway. And second, the highway was relatively busy, and i was just following the traffic flow. I WAS BEHIND A MINIVAN ON THE LEFT LANE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

You know, i gotta admit i was over the speed limit, but no faster than anybody in front of me. But to write me up for 294.00 on the first time i get pulled over seriously, what a ******* douche.

Im just so frustrated bc of it right now. Times are so tough and im doing my best to save some dough to buy some parts for my fd and start working on it and this ******* trooper writes me up for half the cost of a RB dual tip that im dying to get. ****.

Oh well... just thought i would share.
And watch out for shady douche troopers on 84.

Stephan.

if it is your first offense they may reduce it for you, you can also fight the ticket and ask for the proof of speed, but I got to warn you that some troopers get training in estimating people's speed without the use of radar and they are certified to do so.
The judge will always side with them on that subject.

Why were you driving so fast if you knew there were going to be cops all over the place? Sucks you got a ticket, but it happens. I don't see how he was a douche though, it's not like he was treating you like a criminal.

spend a morning in traffic court and you can hear the trooper give his whole speech about his training and certification in regards to estimating speeds

All they do is collect revenue from honest people. 55 or 65 mph highway speed limit is a joke. Stop real criminals? No way, too dangerous.

I know right, they must get commission or something... I mean who the hell would go through all that hassle of pulling someone over for **** if they're not making anything with it.
After i got the ticket i was pretty much forced to drive around 70 mph or so and it felt like i was going 20. Unbelievable!!

they are legal in CT, they used to be illegal but that was changed

the 9500 and the V1 have superior around and over hill sensitivity, but the 9500 has amazing false alarm detection and storage, it will store the location of the false alarm by GPS so it will not go off again

So let me get this straight; You leave your house KNOWING State Troopers are going to be all over and place and yet you STILL speed and do 83 in a 65? Dude, you're the douche.

Don't be mad at the Trooper for doing his job, you were the one speeding.

Can't wait to hear your excuse now...

So let me guess? Ure one of them? Or do you have a money tree in your backyard that you can just pluck 300 bucks from whenever you want? I'm not making "excuses" I was no faster than anybody in front of me on the left lane. He pulled ME over because I was driving an FD, period. I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time this happened to one of us forum members, or anybody who owns a sports car for that matter. Tough luck one would say right!? I totally agree. But did I have to get a $294 ticket on my first offense in seven years? I don't think so. At least I wouldn't have done the same thing he did if I was in his place. But hey I'm just the douche here right.

We get the idea, but you were still going 83, a sports car with out of state plates is the easy target

I know man, I'm not gonna sweat this at all I just thought I would share it with everyone in here you know. I got aggravated at first but you know Its probably gonna end up costing me a lot more money and headache if I bring it to court to dispute it. I mean I gotta drive all the way down there again I just don't think its worth it you know. I don't know, whatever I guess.
