Wow! Big thumbs up to IRP! That is an exceptionally generous offer to the community. Almost make me wish I lived up North....except for the snow...and the accents...and Rich.

Hope you guys are all doing ok. My lovely better half (not Eddie) should be contacting you for some Xmas presents.

If you are using it for heat you do not want any fuel, thinners, brakecleaners or H2O in the oil it will cause you more trouble than taking it will be worth. Chlorinated solvents will attack the stainless steel heat exchanger and develop cracks prematurely. use oil you collect or trusted sources only and you will stay warm all winter.

What kind did you get? my Dad has used waste oil heat for over 30 years in the garage currently using a Reznor furnace its roughly 20 years old and still cookin' another piece of advice from experience we keep the garage about 55 or so at all times since the oil doesn't light as well when the temps get low, also when adding oil allow it to come to room temp before adding large quantities 55+ gal.
