Interesting, it seems like they just moved the spot to the dragstrip.... they're renting E-town from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

 

Anybody else going to this? I'm in Plainfield, NJ if anybody is in the area and wants to ride together, send me a PM

 

That thread does not make sense. I read all pages but it's still confusing. It looks like the changed plans on the runway thing. Some guys were complaining that it's only 1/2 mile too.

Looks like a great idea if it works, if it does it would be nice to see some high HP FDs there.

Yes, it's confussing at first. The runway owners were not cooperating so Greg decided to move the event to Englishtown.

He rented the track out for Oct. 30th from 8:30am - 4:30pm and there's only 26 confirmed people going so far. This event was setup by an exotic car forum (L4P.com) and as you can see from the list there's some pretty serious cars coming out: F430, Carrera GT, Diablo, 1200 hp Supra, 1000hp vette, 800hp vette, lambos, Porsches, BMWs, etc.

Should be an awesome event.

Great question. They rented out the 1/4 drag strip for the day. Would love for you to come out and show them what real hp looks like!

That's weak sauce my man...step up to the plate and bring your car out, haha. No, actually the limit of 40 has not been reached, there are still 7-8 spots open and not EVERY car is going to be an exotic/have 1000hp. All cars are welcome so there will be some audi a4s that will be running 14-15s all day long as well as bmws, is300s, mustangs, g35s, 350zs, you name it.

I was there in the afternoon, so 1 rotary in the parking lot. there was a handful of fast cars and then a bunch of rich guys driving slowly...

 

 

Actually quite the opposite. I knew most of the guys there and most of the cars there (when I got there around 1) were running at least in the mid 13s and below. On top of some track dedicated cars running in the 10s and 9s.

I was going to take off for the runway event.
But for me to go to etown, would of cost more money than expected.

Unfortunately it is... I hear ya on the cost. Yea man I try to make it out to the Thursday night meets, it's always a good time.

 

that c5 vette, the owner wasn't the driver. And I do remember a bmw that had problems a couple times and almost went sideways going down the track, how? I dont know, but it was pretty impressive nonetheless.

So yes there was fast cars, but there was also some stock ones (evos) as well. So im sure it was a great event for the drivers, but nothing memorable to me.
