Wheels stolen from KDR rotary!!!! ..Someone knows something!!

Please read the entire post..this is not a KDR bashing post...

I am sad that a post has to be made of this sort but i think everyone here should know and collaborate to help a buddy out.

A 1993 FD was at KDR rotary for a few weeks now for tuning and some brake work, being parked inside at night but last week the car was left outside and the brand rear wheels with 26x8.5 slicks were stolen.

Now if these were stock wheels i would not make a fus about it but these were
Custom Holeshot holestar wheels with a red anodized bead lock and new 26x8.5 MT slicks
He paid BIG $$$ for these wheels and is an honest joe..

This is what the wheels look like..except the are 5 star
http://www.holeshotwheels.com/images...adred_r_lg.jpg

The car had a custom fabricated strait axle , roll cage, etc etc, but it was left untouched.
The Rotary community is small and i am sure someone knows something.

Please keep in mind this is not a BASH KDR post but a help a brother out besides I am sure KDR does not want dirt bags like these hanging around their shop..

I am sure KDR had nothing to do with this but someone who seen the car there got itchy and when the car stayed outside they went missing.

That sucks, good luck finding the wheels. Sucks when people start thinking the rotary community is the Honda community.

That sucks! This could have been anyone though...as a matter of fact those would even work quite well on a mustang.

Good luck in locating them...

That sucks. Ill keep an eye out down here since imports vs domestics is next weekend at MIR. Who should we contact? And think Englishtown has an event goin on too and with these events someone may have grabbed them to use or sell. And if sold they could end up anywhere. They are kinda small for a mustang though(8.5) i have 10.5's on my FD and those spin. Sound like they would fit a FWD better(think my friend runs 8's or 9's on his VW).

It'd be odd if it were some random passerby from out of town with lucky timing. Best bet is someone local who would know the parking patterns. I'd comb the local dragways and hangouts in the next couple weeks. Criminals can be dumb, would be surprised to see this jackass sporting them someplace soon.

10 yrs. ago I was getting a compression test at his old shop around Nazareth PA. While I was waiting he was setting a court date to prosecute some guy(s) who messed with one of his customer's Rx7s. Dave was pretty aggressive about prosecuting those guys, that's for sure.

yes we will keep an eye out at these events but now the issue here is the wheels had an outrageous "ODDBALL" back-spacing ..so they wont fit too many cars without rear mods or spacers..they are also 5lug 5x114..with these two attributes they will be easy to spot out...

and on the "some random passerby from out of town with lucky timing" got them is out of the question..at least in my view.

Someone that walked into KDR and seen the car there stole the wheels period.
No the question is who walked in when the car was there!!!???

our cars arent the only ones with that bolt pattern, like stated above, the s2000 is a good example of a car that has the same pattern, and ive seen them fit 13 inch wide rims in the back

I hate to see ANYTHING like this happen to a reputable shop and this post might not be popular. However am I reading correctly that the shop made the mistake of leaving the car outside over night? If so, my first questions would be:

1) Who left the car outside? Not knowing the size of KDR if an employee did this by "mistake" you might have to consider the possibility of an "inside" job.

2) Who was in and out of the shop that day? I no nothing of the location of the shop but if it is a highly trafficked area it could have been anyone who stole those. Does the shop not have surveillance cameras on the exterior of their lot?

Just some thoughts, I hope the wheels are recovered and the perpetrators prosecuted as it would be a shame if you had to make an insurance claim because of this. =(

The garage is not big enough to get all the cars inside. They do have surveillance cameras. This really sucks because Dave is one hell of a good guy and his shop does great work. I really hope that you guys find out who did this and make them pay

That's why I didn't understand this thread, forget about finding the guy etc and just have the shop's insurance cover it unless there is a sign somewhere that says the shop is not responsible.

I had my wheels stolen when I lived in South Florida, an expensive set. I found the wheels on a guys car since they were rare. I went to the police. I explained the situation, there was nothing they could do. I explained that I had my ss number stamped on the inside of each wheel, still they needed a warrant etc and did not help. I had the receipt too but again, they could do nothing because the receipt did not point to those specific wheel. I went to another precinct, still nothing.

I ended up getting the wheels back without the help of the police but that's another story.

Just let the shop's insurance company pay for it, it's really not worth the hassle or trouble you can get into....

I also wonder what kind of evidence you would need for a warrant.. I had a hit and run incident 15+ years ago and I had witness who got the license plate. Police did nothing.. I ended up doing my own investigation (because I got hurt from the accident), found where this person bought the car, his wife (who does not live with him but got him the citizenship paper), and his home address. Police still did nothing. They said, "If you want a warrant, than goto the court and try to get one".

Sometimes, I wonder what kind of info you need to have.. Or I guess you need to have friends in high places..
