This thread is to organize the people from the NE that plan on attending the Deals Gap Rotary Rally April 20-22.

Below is the Schedule that herblenny (Phil) has posted for things to kick off on Friday. What I'm looking for is to see who would like to caravan down there, and to arrange where to meet up. Please post your idea's and intentions.


FRIDAY
3:45 PM - Arrive @ the beginning of Tail of the Dragon and make our initial drive thru.

4:15PM - Meet @ the Deals Gap gas/lodge. At this point, those who want to run the Dragon could do so for next couple of hours.. and those who wants to go ahead and head to Fontana could go check in.

6:30PM - 9PM Meet up at the Sweet water BBQ for Dinner and Meet and Greet. Show up before sun down!!!

?? PM - Fill up and head back to Fontana


SATURDAY

7-9AM - Breakfast at Fontana Village

10 AM - 2PM Car Show/Lunch/Meet and Greet/Vendor show/Lectures/etc ** Please show up earliest you can** Also Please stick with the group!

2PM -2:30PM - Clean UP and get ready to ROLL!!!! ALL Rotary or Ex rotary cars, please don't leave early!! Don't try to be a rebel and leave the group. Also, Please stay fairly close to the car front of you. We will try to video tape this event by using several cameras this year. Hopefully we'll be able to capture 100-200 rotaries going thru the Gap.

3PM - Arrive at the other side of the Dragon (by the water front).

3 - 3:30PM - Organize in to groups

3:30 - 7PM - Runs thru the Dragon

7:30- 9:30PM - Dinner/Social at Fontana Village

9:30 - 10 PM - Door prizes and awards.

SUNDAY

8AM - 10AM Breakfast

10 - 11AM Check out/ Good byes

11 AM - Leave Fontana - to Robbinsville

12 - 2PM Fill up/ Gas/ food/ etc

2PM - Depart Robbinsville toward Skyway

2:30 - 5PM - Skyway Run (We will stop minimun of 2 stops along the Skyway run. I know some of you might want to continue on.. but this will help some cars to cool down and such.)

5PM - Last Stop before we separate (End of Skyway run

Well, I'll be headed down with the Columbus people.

 

What road are you guys takeing down. I might want to meet up with you along the way Since Ill be comeing from the same general area. Ill be coming down from Mitchell IN which is about 1hr north west of Louisville, KY

 

I think we are pretty open on the route we take, so long as it's not too far out of the way. Make a suggestion so we can see what works.

 

thinking about going ...i'd be coming out of youngstown ohio....still to early to tell...

I'm reserving our cabin this week and getting a 3 bedroom that sleeps 6. I have 3 and maybe a fourth confirmed to stay/slit the bill. If anyone is interested, let me know.
