yeah I figured not many people can work on that E6K. Unfortunately to do remote tune id need something other than the E6k lol. I googled and found a shop in Hagerstown MD called Rotor Piston Motorsportz I’m gonna try to check out. Shame there aren’t any near northern VA or DC. I’m gonna be patient and save up for an Elite 1500. Been searching and there aren’t even rotary clubs or meets around this area. It’s like only California has a poppin rotary scene.

I tried hitting up angel motor sports but they don’t even return emails or calls and from what I’ve been told on the forum it’s a good thing cause the reviews aren’t great. My FC has an E6K and I’d like to get it retuned. Can’t afford an elite 1500 just yet.

So damn sexy!!
Did you reach out to Mike at Rotor Piston Motorsportz in Hagerstown?

not yet but that’s the one I want to go to. Waiting to sort out the tags as I needed to wait for the title. Do you have experience with this shop? Most of the reviews I’ve read are positive.

Yes...he rebuilt my engine.....I think there are some pictures earlier in this thread. Large street port, BorgWarner EFR 9180, 2000cc injectors all around, Adaptronic ECU, anti-lock delete, hard break lines, and other goodies....420 to the rear. Also powder coated the engine. Nice shop....quite large....has a large clientelle.....Ryan is his front man but Mike is a good dude....I am pretty picky about my car and he did a great job.

bro, that sounds awesome, and expensive, lol! Don’t know if it’s bad Etiquette but what was a bill for the build you just stated round about figure? And timeline? I already have a freshly rebuilt engine S5 cosmo with FD rotors >=1500 miles with an aggressive street port, goopy stud kit, 850 injectors and 1680 injectors, upgraded fuel pump, ogenki 2 stage clutch, borg Warner s366sx turbo, but it has a Haltech E6K which is a dinosaur. I mainly want to upgrade my engine management and my suspension components. I’ve decided to stay static with fresh coilovers with stance part air cups just to get over bumps and driveways. I can do that myself but the engine management is Daunting. When it comes to the bushings I haven’t Decided whether I’m going with polyurethane or solid months. I’m not gonna be taking this to the race track or drifting. I like that the car is fast but I wanted to be comfortable as well. Right now the car has a solid amount in the back and it’s super noisy when you’re shifting gears and I don’t like that. Still researching to see which route I’m going to go.

I'd personally stay away from solid mounts.

Seems like you are set on your engine. If all you need is a new ecu, and you are good with your hands; you could purchase a bolt on ecu from Chris Ludwig https://lms-efi-llc.myshopify.com/ or Nelson Silverio; both will be able to sell you a bolt on harness for your setup, along with a base map. Chris or Nelson also do remote tuning, both are top notch.

Whatever you do, do not pay anybody up front in full.

I am running solid engine mounts, OEM trans, diff mount; no noises, no additional vibration; over 10 years on them, no problems so far.

BTW - I believe I still have my e6k tune that KDR/Speed1 did for me a long time ago. Hard to remember what the engine settings were, I know it was a stock port engine, S5 turbo rotors, 1600cc secondaries, no clue on the primaries. If you need the map, I can send it to you.

thanks for the offer bro but I ain’t messing with it, lol. The car came with a lap top to tune it and I haven’t even turned the laptop on. I know what I know and car tuning ain’t it. Not looking to blow my **** up. I’ll look into those guys you mentioned though, thank you.

I spent a pretty penny and the final bill didn't look anything like the original estimate because I kept tinkering and adding stuff (i.e. painted my engine bay)......lets put it this way...I was north of $20K by the time it was all over and it took 10 months...part of that was Mike's interim location wasn't conducive to his efficient production schedule.....I think now he is cranking them out more and Ryan is making sure he is staying on schedule (to the most part)

Not going to be able to make the spring cruise, but I was thinking of trying to hit up the cars & coffee tomorrow morning at Dulles Landing. It's early, 7-9am, details here:

So I spotted an FD in the wild today (Sunday) while I was driving east on the Fairfax Co. Parkway near Springfield, VA.

it was a black FD, looked fairly stock, but had the front stock brake calipers painted bronze(ish).

Was that anyone here? I pulled up along side to nerd out as the driver exited the parkway

If it was and R1 that was lowered on bronze TE37 wheels it was Arthur, he lives down in Lorton.

Nice! I haven't seen an FD in the wild for YEARS!! I'd forgotten how squat and nice they look. Ironically my wife saw a VR FD in the Wegman's parking lot a few days earlier. It DEFINITELY makes me want mine back from the shop and on the road!!

How is everyone and their RX-7's doing? It's been awhile - mine is still in storage, probably the latest into the Spring it's been there. Looks like the weather may finally cooperate and stay steady into the summer. Hoping to see some people and cars out on the streets soon.

Oh man, it's been a whole year and we're still on this same page. How's it going Duc? I'm still alive and kicking Got the FD out a few times this spring. Been on the charger all winter and fired right up ready to go.I've probably put less than 100 miles on the car in the last 2 years
