Welcome back, what part of MD will you be in? Are you bringing that rhd model or do you have another one?

Ah, I see. Were you able to successfully import it already?

I know I had difficulty bringing my FD back from the UK when I PCS'd back here, and mine was a USDM car to begin with!!! I had recently swapped in an aftermarket hood and the importers wouldn't accept it until I was able to physically provide them the plate from the hood which confirmed that the car met EPA standards as produced.. It was pretty ******* annoying!

That, and if you haven't already received your car from the port than I would be VERY thorough with your inspection once it's state side.. They damaged the **** out of my front bumper in transportation then falsified their paperwork to indicate that it was damaged when I turned it in to them... If I didn't have my carbon copy of the inspection sheet with me then the shipping company would have laughed at my claim and told me to **** right off!

Damn that's sucks. No I didn't have any issues really. I was anxious as hell though because the car is completely modified specially the whole front end. However, the car is JDM. I didn't need the epa hood stickers and I think I didn't had any issue due to the 25 yrs old rule.
Also, I denied the dot inspection as well. I paid out of pocket as well because I knew the army was going to complaint and make things harder. The car is already registered as a classic and again the process was smooth.

A couple of guys go to morning events now instead so post up if you are heading to a meetup and some people might show up to say hi. Hopefully we get a spring cruise in ~March.

Hey Scott, do the guys at RPM/UPR have a dyno in-house? Once I get my FD back and do the break in I'll need to find a shop that'll let me rent out a day for tuning... there's a shop like 15 min from my house, but they seem squeamish about letting another tuner in and even more so about letting a tuner remote in to make changes

I figure a rotary shop may be more willing...

Not yet...Mike Quinn expects to have one in the Spring....would have been earlier but they had to move out of their last building to a new facility in Hagerstown (closer for me anyway). And now he owns that place so he can invest in the dyno....I know I will need him to have it in place so he can tune Roxanne.

Cool cool, thanks!! Yeah, it looks like mine won't be done before April anyway so that's not a problem for me

Might be wishful thinking, but it feels like spring. Took my R2 out yesterday to shake off the cobwebs and race the Dulles Access Road.

Anybody else coming out of hibernation?

I'm thinking about going. Had a great phone convo with Mike -- very helpful talking through minimum reliability mods with a newbie. Anyone want to coordinate a drive out I-270/70 or up 15/67?
