Baltimore area: My Boxer needs a new home

Savahna is about 2 1/2 years old and has been a great dog but with us getting a new puppy 6 months ago, she has gotten more and more upset at not being in charge of things any more.
Now that the new puppy is twice her size, she's starting to initiate power struggles with him all the time and we've had to separate them quite a bit recently. She doesn't bite or anything, she just tries to take whatever he is playing with or eating, trying to wrestle with him a lot and she's basically teaching him bad habits. We're too busy working to spend tons of time trying to stop the behavior, and the puppy has been the better dog through this so we've made the choice and he is the one staying.
She is AKC certified and fixed, and up to date on shots. If it matters, we paid close to $1000 when we bought her and of course several visits to the Vet to have her fixed and for shots/exams. We don't want to sell her, we just want to know she won't be taken to the animal shelter.
Let me know about anyone interested. Thanks.
Hey man. I understand fully the stress that your two dogs may be putting you through, but if you can believe it things will get better.
I remember when I brought my 3 year old male working dog home to my 1 year old female Rottweiler. She was a little worried and stressed at another dog invading her space, but she ultimately was the one who was there first, which led to her becoming confident with the whole situation. Being that the male was already trained in obedience only helped out in the long run. Sure he caused some bad habits at first, but his following of commands became noticeable in her behaviors also. When he was told to sit, lay down or stay, she did the same. When we played ball, she finally realized that when she brought it back she would get it again.
I know with having to work and maintain your life it makes it a bit harder to raise two dogs, but you have to sacrifice some of your extra time in the beginning. This extra time will undoubtedly lead to two beautiful and loveable dogs. Stick with it for a while longer, and you should see some good results.
Either way, I wish you the best of luck, and wish I could take her off your hands, just the wrong time for me right now. Truthfully though, raising two dogs is easier than one.

u can get a choke collar put it on her and when she goes after the new puppy give her nice hard correction.... do this a couple of times and she might stop. i m taking my boxer to obedience classes and he is becoming a good dog. i just got a new female boxer and he does the same thing that your dog is doing. worst come to worst u can always let them out to play at seperate times. good luck.

Thanks for the advice guys, but we don't have the time to do it anymore. We've given it six months already (and already tried every trick we've found) and it's only getting worse. She's just too jealous and it's not working. Maybe we're just not good at it, maybe we shouldn't have two in the first place. Bottom line is, enough is enough.
I went through the samething. I own 3 pitbulls, an 11yr old 90lbs female, 2yr old 60lbs female, and a 2yr old 70lb male. The two young ones are brother and sister, they get along great. I originally only had the male and older female, but I took the sister away from my brother cause he wasn't doing the right thing and I'm the one who gave it to him under certain cicumstances. Anyway, the two females would fight over anything and there would be blood shed, it took me 4 months to get them to get along. I would suggest crating when she is aggressive and when no one is home, she will learn. You have to spend time with them and show equal love, it's just note fair to the older dog. If you don't have time for her , then you should'nt have a dog period.
Don't give up on her, take them out together. Do everything with them, not only one.

Take her to a no kill shelter.
I have a male boxer (Sergeant), he's 4 now. Me and the wife have been looking for another Boxer.
If you are giving her away I will take her on the condition she gets along with my present dog. I have a nice large home, with almost an acre, in South York County in PA so she would definitely have lots of room to roam. Give me a call 717-215-3116 TIM.
