Up in PA we are also gonna be getting a few days of 50's but the amount of salt still on the roads i wouldnt dare. I can only dream that i can pull mine out of storage sometime in march!

Yea man same here, too much salt and melting snow that my 7 has never seen! I always think about taking it out this time of year once the weather starts changing but then remember what the salt does to an all metal car! She will just have to wait a few more weeks!

Haha ya, I vouched to never let mine see the likes of salt, as I will never forget the time my dads blazer's runners fell off in the driveway while plowing...one time in the salt and your cars done. I just got my fd from nc at the end of summer...I want nothing more than to drive it once again!

even though it will warm up the roads are a mess, the right hand lane is solid gravel and kicks up so much debris- road rash is not avoidable
I have to take the car out for some dyno runs and I am not looking forward to it, will plan my trip very carefully
the other day on the way to work some douchebag flew by in the right lane and it looked like a cloud of stones behind him, have to wait for a few more good rains and the street sweepers to go out and do their thing
then there is the potholes!

Zum- Yea I can't wait I have access to my storage but don't want to take her out other than starting her up in the driveway. I am currently in Clinton, MA about 10 mins north of Worcester but the 7 is at my dads shop in Winchendon, on the MA/NH border off Rt. 2.
Rob- You are correct about the **** on the roads and thats why I am not getting the 7 out for a while. The potholes are fun to avoid!

Been taking it out at least once a week, even during the winter months.
I checked underneath the car and there is no visible damage or any imperfections from the salt.
Wheel wells (liners) could use a good cleaning though and ill get to that when i change my brakes.

I have another car, 2006 that i daily drive and i didnt care what was out there, i drove lol.
When it was hailing, sleeting, snowing, that 2 inch storm we got and trucks CAKED the roads with salt, i drove through it.
I just did the oil change to that car yesterday and underneath looked perfect lol
I guess you just have to remember to drive in the rain as well after driving through winter months lol

Its not that my cars old or that I have had to have a 2nd car for daily driving, it's that there are so many unforeseeable factors in winter that you dont have to worry about any other season (more salt/sand that can kick you sideways even when driving cautiously that doubles as undercarriage deteriorates, potholes on every road/highway, trying to push a 2" gap with front spoiler yet alone a FEED front through any amount of snow, or how everyone somehow forgets how to drive whenever it rains or snows) that keeps it in the garage all winter.
By all means, bring your FD up to New England next winter during one of our storms and we'll see how far you can go.
