Why are you installing Omega's? the ones i put in a few years back were garbage fresh out the box (over cranking with Tach signal) hopefully they are much better now. Anyways i prefer Directed Electronics brand alarm and remote starts ( Viper/Clifford/Hornet/Ungo/Avital Etc.......) Very rarely does a unit come back to the shop with problems, but use what you got and what your familiar with. Jose i would also post installed prices for the alarm only units and also for the remote start units, Combos then options........ keyless entry, trunk/hatch release etc.........

 

I can get any type of alarm but the one I trust the most and had no problems with are autopage and some of the omega alarms (avital) is made by omega. if you have a brain that goes bad and it is a viper they wont take it back if it was not installed at a dealer. I worked at a car dealership for 5 years doing this kind of work now I work from home..

 

Avital is DEI (have the brand at the shop). It is true about DEI not warranting stuff that is not installed at an authorized dealer, but usually it's a rare occurance when a DEI brain goes bad with a good install. anyways good luck doing this on your own. Nothing better than being your own boss.

 

me and a friend are going to open a shop he works on rx7's and 8' also rebuilds and turbo's roll bars and I will do the alarms and stero's

 

so if i bring my own alarm, you can take the old one off and instal a diffrent one. i am going with a crimestopper with remote start and door popers since i am shaving the door handles.

 

Thats where i would like to be in the near future, but have my hands tied right now with just the car audio/ security stuff. definately have money making potential with that combination.

crimestopper wont warranty what it isnt put in by a dealer as well. They want to make sure certified techs or MECP licensed installers are doing the work. It isnt brain surgery but I see alot of hack jobs done.
