MD 4th Annual MZC Thanksgiving Drag Meet: Saturday November 22nd

What: 4th Annual MZC Thanksgiving Drag Meet
Where: Cecil County Drag Strip (same as always)
1916 Theodore Road, Rising Sun, Maryland, 21911
When: Saturday November 24th
How Much: $35 to run, $10 to spectate (i believe thats per person)
Details: Like always, we will be meeting at Columbia Mall by the parking garage around 7:30am. Bring at least $50 bucks if you plan on running...also factor in gas and food and tolls (i think about 5 bucks?). If you guys wanna eat we can grab a bite back at Columbia afterwards. Last year we had a decent turn out...lets make this one even better! You dont have to run to go and have fun! Come out either way. Its always fun times just watching and shooting the ****. Usually this time of year if you DO decide to run, you can get a decent amount in. I think last year the track actually wasn't that crowded at all
Hope to see ya there!

Man, I just noticed that I accidently posted saturday the 24th, that was last years (copied/pasted the basic format and changed the info for this years). Just to reiterate, this years is saturday november 22nd as the title says, not the 24th! If a mod could change that, that would be awesome..if not, then i guess its down here and in the title so it doesnt matter too much..

just a T&T, we generally dont have enough people running to make it a full out rental, but this time of year it is usually a fairly sparse crowd compared to normal, all 3 previous years the people running could basically get as many as they wanted.

I might have to attend this. About 30 minutes form my house too. I kept thinking this event was the weekend right after Thanksgiving.

Change Of Plans

IF YOU WERE INTERESTED IN COMING, PLEASE READ

Just to let you guys know, some people I know are renting out MIR (Maryland International Raceway) on the same date, so we are switching venues and going there...this is a full track rental, it will be $10/spectate, and $100/race.

While this may sound a little steep to run, this is a full track rental...the only people there will be this group. The WHOLE track will be sprayed with VHT, no need to worry about rules (full cages etc). The gas pumps and concession stand will be open, and you are virtually guaranteed as many runs as you want seeing as how there will be maybe 60 people there.

There will be many sub 10 second cars there, and when I say sub 10's im talkin like 8 second supras, SC/TT'd vipers, etc, so even if you just want to spectate it will be a much better show than watching billy badasses all day in their 11 second camaros and 10 second GNX's. If you want to run let me know so i can give a head count. Sorry if this turns any of you guys off, but for us it seems like a much better deal...

$65 more but WAY shorter lines, a tighter group of people (many are all friends, not just random people), the WHOLE track sprayed with VHT (no traction issues for high hp guys), no track rules pertaining to cages etc, we've had 9 second supra's with no cages, and virtually as many runs as you want for the day!

Do we need to pay in advance or just bring 100 with us? Are you guys still meeting up somewhere and driving down together?

You can bring the 100 and pay when you get there.
As for meeting up, everyone from around rockville is meeting up and I'm tryin to meet up at Columbia mall with people from around me. Then maybe yet and meet at a park and ride along the way, if not just at the track. If you wanna jump in on one of the meet areas lemme know and ill get the details for ya!

Well the gate opens at 9 for us so I'm thinkin around like 845 leave by 9, its a little over an hour from Columbia so I figure on mostly highway light traffic we can make it there close to 10. Unless u wanna be there right as it opens, which we don't need yo worry about. Well meet Infront of the lord and Taylor parking garage (in the pics on first post, its all the way around)

My number is 443 996 6995 if ya need anything!
