1st Annual ROTOR JAM on 7/13/2008
I see that obscure post now that you point it out, it was not on the NYRA website that I checked before I left the house.
I can see if the judging was already over and counted, cars were still being judged as I sat there waiting to get judged myself.
No big deal, I got to see some other cars and shoot the **** for a little bit.

Rob, I'm very sorry that you could not enter the contest. When you showed up, yes Jason was still judging but he was working on his final 4 at the time, so he had already scored the cars prior and was just doing another walk through of his final picks. I'm sorry you did not see the sign at the front gate right next to the lady checking you in or the post I made before. I was apart of the conversation about letting you in, but it was already 2:30pm and Jay was making the final picks. Your car was very nice and I give mad props for getting her done, but if we did that for everyone who showed late we would have rejudge all the cars in the class to make sure how people stacked up. I hope you see are side, it has nothing to do with you personaly.
No one chickened out. Well Anthony was scared to race me and I did call him out twice at the show. Those cars run some serious juice so to race them hard 2 hours away from home without a trailer could be a very bad mistake. They took it upon themselves to just talk trash and finish it closer to home.
who's red fc was it at the track all day that was basically cruising in the 10 second range? Whoever drove that is an awesome driver because that thing looked like it was as solid as can be and pulled 10's.
Was great meeting everyone. I had a blast even though I would have paid a hundred for an ice bath by 1pm.
I vote on either a late spring (may) or early fall (sept) time next year. It was just way to brutally hot to really enjoy ourselves this year.

Most of the runs I saw of the red FC, he was only running through the 8th and finishing on the brakes. I saw one run where he ran 11.0 and clocked like 89 mph. A lot of cars were just running test and tune and doing launches.

I had a great time, it was a great event. It was very well organized, I liked the signs and the bright orange staff shirts, you could spot the staff from a mile away. After the event a bunch of us went to Applebees to cool off before the ride home. The judging was on point, a few of us actually picked out our choice of 1st place and 2nd place cars and they were the same winners.
Congrats to Roan on his car show win! Thanks to Rx794 for making me wrap my downpipe!
Anthony
PS - Man it was hot, felt like 100deg!
Coolant temps in traffic never went past 190-194 and as soon as I started moving dropped to 180 again.
4x1680 cc injectors burnt about 1/4 tank of gas after filling up outside the track to my house.

I HAD A GREAT TIME AS WELL.
lots of nice cars and got to meet new rotorheads, which is always good.
i'll agree with anthony that i think the judges did a good job with thier picks. i think robs vert would have been a frontrunner if it was included in the compitition, but i fully understand why it couldn't. theres always next year.
overall, nice event guys
