I would like to thank everyone who came out. The feedback we received was very positive. The weather turned out great and so where those who attended. Next year promises to be bigger and better. See you next year at Rotor Jam 09.

Wanted to thank Chris and Jason for letting me bring out Sokudo Oni Apparel and VIPrinting out to the show. I am hoping next year to have the rx7 out there with the booth.

I do want to appologize to the people that wanted stickers cut that had to wait and had the problem with the heat and the vinyl.

I am glad I got ChrisM's sticker done early when it was a little cooler tho....

I left my house around 9:30, our printer was broken so my wife "wrote" directions down.

What was supposed to be a 100 mile trip turned into 200 and I did not get until 2:30. I had not hooked up my AC, heck I only had 220 miles on my swap when I left the house and scrambled to get to the event over the last week.

Judging was not over yet, they were still judging 3-4 cars and claimed they would judge mine last.

But wait- some people complained I got there late and did not want my car to be judged?
Who are these people?

The ONLY place it mentions the time frame for the car show was that one poster which was set up by the tent, not on the NYRA website, not on this website either.
Heck the price was not even in there, when I got there the girl charged me to get in, did not ask a thing about the show, so I figure "they must charge for the show once your in because that money goes to them"

I really care less about a plastic trophy, I build my car for myself- but after getting lost, burnt, and getting there late thats what I came into to.

So all I ask is- who said I got there too late for the show when nothing was advertised and the judging was still going on?

i am truly sorry that you had the issues that you did and couldnt get in on time....i was partially involved with the decision making process of not letting your car in the show....i am sorry you are so angry over this but due to the size and nature of the event i was trying my best to keep everything fair for every one and well coordinated.....to be honest i dont know if/where/when the times were announced and i am not going to search for them but we had a schedual to keep

there is the sign that was placed at the beginning of the track and near the trophies so that every one could see.....i understand putting a car together takes time and there are always issues but the other show cars were able to make it there and it wouldnt have been fair to them...if you want to put some one on blast then please do it to me and no one else....i dont mind taking the hit but dont taint the day because you were the only one who seemed upset

you were still judging when I got there, that poster which is only visable once you got to the event was the only timeline of events besides drag racing.

It was the point that I was going to turn around and go home when I was lost, but I kept going, so after driving almost 5 hours to get there and then being told I could not enter the show when you were still judging cars as I got there.

Only thing I was upset about was after cramming in 10-11:00 nights to get the car ready, getting lost, being hot and sunburnt that was the outcome of my week.

If you think im upset about it- im alot less upset then some people reacted last year thats for sure.

It just seemed odd that only after a group of about 10-12 people were around my car that we were told we could not enter the show.

Chrism I have to say that is pretty mesed up i understand you werent the only dision maker but. He worked extremely hard to get his car where it is and all the way down there, and just bc he ran in to some miss fortune, you had to exempt him from the competition? come on you guys were still judging, arent we all supposed to be friends? I would like to see how you feel in such a position like that. Exspecialy, when there was a bunch of people including myself waiting for him to show, and what were there like maybe 20 fc's total and 10-12 in the show? you couldnt jugde one more car? come on man

im over it, I did not mean to sound petty, but with such a small turnout and trophy money coming out of someone's pocket I would have thought the more entries the better.

hopefully next year has a better turnout.

It was great seeing Chris, Joel, Roan, Anthony, Josey, and everyone, but I was stunned by the lack of FD's. Is that the deal these days? Lots of Rx8's, lots of 2nd gens, bit no third gens? No interest? No FD's? What's all this forum talk about FD's, when people aren't getting together? 7 FD's out of what 200 cars? 100 cars?

It was nice getting out.

Gordon
it seems everyones FD was out for the count. dont worry, i will bring mine by next month

Rob, I'm sorry that you unfortunately got there late but it was discussed that it wouldn't have been fair to the guys that were there on time. Also John(John64) posted on 7/7/08 on the Rotorjam thread the schedule of the events so that there was no misunderstanding. Just in case you didn't see it here's the link, it's post#115, You can see it here:

https://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-forum-30/1st-annual-rotor-jam-7-13-2008-a-762682/page5/

Nothing personal against you, there was another FD that showed up after the cut off time and he wasn't allowed in the show as well.
