PA 1988 gtu problem

Hello guys. I have a 1988 gtu street ported and having trouble to start. It looks like the spark plugs are getting soak in gas. If I take them of and clean them it will start with no problem, but as soon as I turn it off it won't start. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Possibly leaking injectors. Also check for vacuum leaks causing a rich condition.

As a rule of thumb you should've had them cleaned and flow tested before even putting them in, did you do that?

I'm not sure if there's a way to test if they're leaking, I'd also check your timing.

Are you spark plugs and wires new? If not replace those too, checking the adjustment on your tps too, as well as all your vacuum lines.

Install a fuel cut switch, use it to turn ff the car. Or you have low compression from your rebuild.

Could be low compression like he says , but the compression should go up after break-in.

How many miles are on it?

it has 123,000 and it was rebuilt by the last owner. I did a compression test and the rear rotor has 100 and front has 95. when I got this car around 6 months ago it came with a fuel cut switch but I wanted to take it off and run with out it, so I did and I found that the fuel pump relay was bad, so I got a brand new relay and that's when I found that its getting flooded. so now I put the fuel cut switch and is working again but I think their is some problem some where in the fuel injection because every time I stop on a red light I have to press the gas pedal, if I don't do it it will shut off. I was getting this problem since I got this car. also the motor is ported. I just want to get rid off the fuel injection system and make it carb. as of right now I got the racing beat lower and upper weber intake manifold.

Compression is legit, its definitely something else.

Leaky injector?

Change the fuel filter, check the fuel pressure and pump sock. Have your fuel injectors serviced. If you d that, the problem will most likely go away.
