It’s Almost Time…..

Hi Guys,

It has been way to long since I’ve posted/ had a running 7.

Now that J finally got my tremendous CC debt paid for (thanks vosko I have purchased all the remaining parts I was missing from my build. Turbo came back from rebuild on fri, manifold is all re-welded. Piping is in house, bov & wg in house. Just waiting on a few AN fitting from summit.

Now I’ve stumbled on a new problem. I need to borrow a TIG welder, I mean I could buy my own but if I could pay someone to borrow there’s for a few hrs I would make it worth your while. I’m a skilled welder and my dad has been a union welder for the past 27 years so I would just need the machine. I have about 14-18 welds I need done and this thing will finally be done.

Keith does Jim have one? Or should I just spend the 1500 and get one?

Also does anyone have a Haltec map for the XS TO4s?

Keith I might need your and Jim’s help just to make sure I don’t miss anything. But ive had enough time to not miss anything but I don’t trust my self that much J)

ooh btw check out what ive been doing in the past years

Probably the longest 4 years of my life, yea definitely going to need a tune. I think the map I have loaded in the Haltec is for a t78 (one of your old maps?)

As she stands (to do list)
Install manifold/turbo/Dp probably about 10 welds here
Install the radiator
Weld in bov flange
Once over on entire car
Start car

Suspension, fuel system, Custom vented stock hood, interiors @ paint (refinishing the horrible paint job on the ac controls) ALL DONE

The Tial bov and wg are sitting in the dining room along with the turbo, piping, manifold, radiator, Evans coolant, basically everything I need. Not I just need the welder and a nice Sunday….

No IM @ work, (boo) even though I’m the admin they don’t allow me to play to much while I’m @ work, I don’t know what’s up with that.

Why don’t you like the Evans?, its been so long since I’ve been on here. Back then it was the best stuff since sliced bread.

Vosko, Did Dave teach you some tuning tricks??

Seriously Bacon, if you need some tuning done, give Demetrios a call. He usually has tuning sessions at a performance shop in Jersey once a month.

You spoke the exact words I want to hear ErnieJ) Its been such along time coming with this thing, I don’t want to get ahead of my self (what happened b4) & its been so long since I did most of the work to this thing, its almost like I have to go back and do it again just to double check my self. I just want to see it on the road again; I’ve owned this car for 8 years and haven’t driven anywhere as much as I should have.
Vosko do you still have the beast? I think the last time we talked was after some VW whacked you.

UPDATE: 4*18*05

Well I had a productive Sunday (I usually hate when I have those). Turbo is in, exhaust is all in and tightened, radiator and rad fans are in, Turbo coolant lines done, Boost control lines done(waiting on a fitting for the oil feed line) from here one it looks like I need to get the gas in the car and fire her up. Minor things that are left are putting the interior back together, putting belly pans on and the hood, installing the toe links, then doing a once over on the entire car. I have a few pics of the engine in its current situation but their BIG 2.2 megs a piece (damn 5 mega pix camera) so if anyone can re-size I would appreciate it if not you’ll just have to wait till I use my POS camera for the pics

Just want to send a pre-running thank you to all that have helped this build in one way or another. It has been a long time comming......
