Rx-8 OEM timing maps. Here they are.

Over in the Rx-8 forums I was involved in a thread about timing, and one of the vendors who flashes Rx-8 ECU's posted the current OEM timing maps (6 port manual tranny cars). Keep in mind that these cars have 10:1 rotors. The rows are RPM and the columns are a load unit of some sort from their MAF sensor.

split map, in number of degrees between leading and trailing:

Do you have any idea what the numbers across the top represent? The ones labeled from 0.06 - 1.25.

that looks like it.

there must be another map for idle, if you're in the car with the mazda IDS at idle leading is always -5btdc but trailing will advance to a positive number (it varies too!)

The RX-8 ecu uses different maps for different situations rather than just one map like most others do. There are 3 different maps for accelerating alone and even 2 for decelerating in gear! The idle map isn't shown as the timing split goes negative (trailing firing first) below about 1000 rpm or so.

didn't you work at a dealership? you can plug it into the IDS and watch it.

it doesnt run negative split very much, pretty much any throttle you give it, the negative split goes away

I'm willing to bet that the numbers ontop are resistance values off the TPS
