The screws are idle mixture adjustment.usually 1.5 turns out.i ran a car with no oil cooler on the street and has no problems because I wasn't beating on it all the time.you probably won't need a fan as a peripheral port moves so much cold air through the intake it shouldn't get got.as far as tuning, you need to get an egt gauge and probes for tuning for full throttle.

No need for afr it's not a turbo engine.prepheral port engines are easy to tune.had one on the street for many years.e.g.t. means exhaust Gas temperature.pineappleracing sells a kit that has everything needed.a gauge, 2 probes that mount into the header 6 inches from the engine.it is best to put it on a dyno so you can look at the gauge instead of trying to look while driving and take a chance on crashing. You are looking for 1850 ish egt at full throttle.fuel pressure shoul be 3-4 psi.timing should be 20-10 btc.at 4k rpm.what chokes are in the Weber?

No need for a fan on a PP? Uhmm, what? I'd definitely run a fan, electric or mechanical with a shroud.

Ran them for years on the road coarse without fans.there is so much cold air running through the intake ports and the front of the car that a fan is just extra weight and one more thing that may fail.
