N/A exhaust setups

Its been very difficult to put a finger on some N/A setups... no run this, no run that.
I've also tried to read the many paragraphs and novels that rotary god fisted on every single n/a exhaust thread... Here i would like to jumble it all into a crazy madness of the most popular pieces and what holds up. I know that some hardcore guys will just say "run what was designed for a rotary engine." Not to mention RB nut swingers... (lol just playing) and yet stock cats, exhaust on a stock engine will burn up... end rant. PS: im not labeling myself as the know it all young punk... i like to help and i think this would point people in the correct direction.

So i am very curious (not that much) about each and every setup and try to keep the conversion material low since it clutters up and causes simple minded people (aka me) to get confused.

If you guys/gals could list the below that would be great.

Engine:12a, 13b, 13brew, 20b, ect....(Add the setup if you want)
Port layout: stock, 6port, 4port, clean up, street, BS, Bridge, HB, PP ect.....
Header Brand: RB, Corksport, pace setter ect....
Custom Header: Runner lengths, collected, non collected, dia. ect...
Diameter specs: From the flange all the way to the tip.
Mufflers/pre-silencers/cats: locations, dia, brand, type.
Your 2 cents: pro's con's.... would you run this setup on a *blank* type of car. How much did you spend. Video, pics, sound bites ect....

If the mods think this thread will be complete nonsense i will not be butthurt over it being deleted. I just won't try to do things on my own anymore, like eating, or taking the browns to the superbowl.

Engine: 13B S5 FC vert
Port layout: stock 6port, operational aux ports.
Header Brand: Corksport power series
Diameter specs: 2" runners, 2.5 collector, 2 1/4 adapter to turbo 3" catback, 3.5" tip, all stainless.
Muffler: OBX straight through design, perforated tube with packing, far end of the exhaust with 3.5" tip.
2 cents: Its loud, would not run this on a daily car. 55mph cruising has a annoying drone. Sounds raspy in the mid range but has a good beastly note in the upper rpms. Decent backfires in the upper rpms. Spent around $500 on this setup, I love it besides the drone and could be a little quiter (im in the market for a presilencer lol) and looks good to me on the end with the 3.5" tip.
VIDEO: drive by set at 2:40 to skip the bs.

Idle rev (idle wouldnt come down from 1100rpm.... blah and sound quality is crap)

Engine:S5 13B block (carb'd instead of EFI)
Port layout: Stock ports
Header Brand: Custom
Custom Header: RB replica collected to single pipe (header and cat replacement)
Diameter specs: 2" runners, collected 3" to stock catback
Mufflers/pre-silencers/cats: straight open to stock 20yr old mufflers.
Your 2 cents: I probably won't run a setup like this on a street car again. It sounded awesome, but I got WAY too many tickets with it. It was WAY WAY too loud. I only payed 150 for the header/midpipe combo, but will definitely pay the money for a real exhaust next time.

The weld work looked terrible, but it didn't leak.

Engine: 13B - 12A plates/front cover, REW housings, GSL-SE 13B rotors and e-shaft. Sterling 465CFMcarb, 74 RX-4 intake manifold.
Port layout: Mild streetport primaries, aggressive secondaries. 4 port
Header Brand: Racing Beat Streetport Dual exhaust.
Custom Header: Originally 12A RB header modified to fit 13B
Diameter specs: 2"OD
Mufflers/pre-silencers/cats: RB presilencers, RB power pulse dual into 1 muffler.
Your 2 cents: First vid is stockport 12A with RB exhaust. Second is SP 13B with the dizzy off a tooth. It's whisper quiet now that the dizzy's been adjusted. Was almost unbearable before. That's the big selling point for RB. Aside from being %100 bolt on, they add power but are still quiet at idle. Once you get up above 4K they start making some sweet music, but you can keep it nice and civil around the law.

Engine: 13B S4 (4 port) , 50mm ITB's, Megasquirt 2 EFI
Port layout: Full Bridgeport
Header Brand: Custom "home made"
Custom Header: About 26" ,collected,
Diameter specs: 2" Primaries, 2.5" collecter into 3" megaphone, 3" exhaust rest of the way
Mufflers/pre-silencers/cats: straight through 3" pre-silencer after megaphone, Straight through 3" rear muffler at the rear
Your 2 cents: Very loud as you would expect, but seems to get the job done. I would prefer shorter primaries at some point, or a long primary setup i dont think they are at optimum length, but they are mandrel bent and equal length.

See vid below, still from a while back during break in, ill have to get a more aggressive one up soon :

Hopefully no one is going to try to draw any conclusions about any exhaust systems off of comparisons of cars that have entirely different mods. It isn't going to tell you anything. You are just finding out what everyone's individual cars sound like. That's it.

Good call Rotary God. This is probably going to degenerate into another lets hear your exhaust thread only slightly more structured.

I'll post a video clip of my exhaust when I get a chance. It sounds nothing like the previous video and I doubt it'll even be audible with my camera.

Instant thread kill, Did you read the first post at all?
This thread is all about communication through what works and what is most common. I bet someone out there has a car setup almost identical to any of the cars listed here.
unless someone has something thats completely one off and made of gold... i mean come on seriously. Purpose of this thread is for someone to cycle through sample a car and pm that person and talk to them. Im sure most of you worked up to where you car is now, some just bam do it all at once. So at sometime or somewhere you've have or had the exact same car setup as 10 or more people on this forum at one time or the other.... Now its going to become a exhaust sound thread because of your input and what your elitist post count will point people in the right direction like moses of the rotaries. Im not picking a fight its just how people judge other people by stats and whats easy to see.

Thanks....

cup is half FULL!

Everyone says my car is really quiet for a modified rotary.

It's a header of unknown manufacture (will be changed sooner or later), 3 foot long 2.5" Cherry Bomb, 2.5" Ultraflo SS (designed for one side of a Fox Mustang), and there are two 1.75" restrictor rings in the tailpipe, about 2" apart.

The restrictor rings do at least as much as an entire muffler, and they made no appreciable difference in exhaust restriction because they are at the very end of the system where the exhaust is coolest and slowest. They did a phenomenal job of cutting resonance, though. No rings meant it droned horribly. One ring cut the drone up to 55mph, over that the increased load brought it back. Two rings cur the drone up to about 75mph, over which I don't really drive anyway.

Here's a video... I'm at about 60mph, going between coasting, cruising, and full throttle. Under cruise, the rearend is louder than the car. (As screwed as the trans was, it wasn't making all that racket )
