OR Most PP power, dyno sheets...

so who has made the most power with a periphrial port... and lets see the dyno sheets... im trying to make up my mind for what i want to put in my 74 REPU, its going to be a project done right, and ive got ~9 grand to spend on pretty much whatever i want, so im trying to figure out what the best options would be, that and the most annoying... (being a 74, even living in portland oregon, i dont have to worry about DEQ). so lets hear the ideas...

I talked to the dyno shop owner and turner who said 360 with a big 2bbl carb.

Question about "the most power NA" you're not going to get an answer - you'll still see people posting dyno sheets up to about 300-320hp for a 2-rotor but past that, NA, everyone gets real secretive. Hints of 400hp at the flywheel or maybe wheels, et and trap speeds indicating somewhere around there, but details? Good luck.

Did you ever try searching in N/A section? there are few dyno sheets of 13B PP with over 300 HP at the wheels. Crispeed and other serious engine builders/tuners many times gave a hint what kind of power they are producing, in excess of 350+ whp, several times quoted even 375+ whp.

You need dyno sheet? Why? Its not enough for you that these cars can trap 130+ MPH, one almost 140 MPH?

For some the numbers are one thing. For others (like myself) it would be nice to see the hp/torque curve in relation to rpm's. As long as I've been on here, the really hi hp pp folks never post dyno graphs.

Yes thats true. Honestly, so far I´ve seen only about 3 dyno graphs of 13B PP. Most powerful had 323 whp at just 8700 RPMs with 200 lb.ft of torque around 8000 RPMs. Sheet started at 5500 RPMs with 175 lb.ft rear wheel torque - far more powerful than any other porting. Peripheral port is king in area under the curve at given power level. Just not at low load.

You are asking about the most peak power then talk about what i assume is emissions. imho this is like saying "I want an apple what is the most flavorful orange you sell." For the most part going for peak power NA you are talking about moving the power band up higher and most of the time making it narrower, Note i did say for the most part but keep in mind $9k is spent quick for an engine made to rev to 10-15K+ RPM. For street driving you want a power band starting a lot lower. Another thing to think about is that 330+ RWHP PP tend to spike as in the power out put can go from 150 hp to 280hp in just 700-1.2k RPM this can be dangerous to a driver that is not use to driving a car like that as tire spin can happen at good speeds, middle of a turn, etc.

Please do not get me wrong I am not anti PP, there is just a lot of misinformation and lack of knowledge about how to build, tune and drive a PP. I have little experience with them but I know some one who has built a number of them and he works his *** off each time he builds one to keep the power band as low as he can and like me can care less what the peak power ends up as long as it pulls hard.

I have to install another transmission into my 13B-PP car and it will be hitting the dyno for some more tuning here in a few weeks. I have a bag full of jets for my weber. Once it's all done i'll post up some dyno graphs for you. I have a 48IDA with 46mm venturies and my intake port on the outside of the housing is 52mm. Two years ago in a different chassis it dyno'd at 210rwhp and had 150 ftlbs torque.

most hp i dynoed was 338rwhp and 180tq on a bridgeport partial p-port. and this was done 5 years ago. i'll be back on the dyno very soon. i remember i couldnt fine tune when i was at the dyno. to much noise and i was shut down.. i don't want to let the cat out of the bag, but i'm looking to shatter 340rwhp
