That's actually something I don't like about my current engine, the engine does make boatloads of midrange but there's like a second powercurve that starts at 7500. The problem is, I want a powercurve that falls off so I have a 1500-2000rpm cushion between the end of the power curve and the end of the engine's life! I plan on doing ignition control and having a timing curve that is optimal right up to about 9500 and then drops down to something like 0 or even 10ATDC by 9800. Just nuke the power before the engine can hurt itself.

When I freshen my other engine/convert it to 4-port, I'm going to try closing the ports 10 degrees earlier.
