Lightbulb exhaust idea

Maybe this idea is doomed from begining or completly over looked.

I got this idea after looking at an older 2 stroke dirtbike, how it has the huge exspansion chamber inbetween the cylinder and muffler.. I was thinking, hey what exactly is that for, and would the same idean work for the rotory and possibly perform better then ordinary headers??

Without getting into a long technical response, I'll just say no it won't work. The whole point of that style exhaust is to help scavenge during the early phases of the exhaust cycle but then push some of that exhaust back in right before the exhaust phase closes. You definitely don't want that on a 4 stroke engine.

Even so, it's still considered to have all the cycles of a 4 stroke engine.

1. Suck
2. Squeeze
3. Bang
4. Blow

2 strokes combine 2 cycles into one, hence the 2 stroke. A still goes by the same principles of the 4 stroke engine.

Actually it does. The eccentric shaft has offset lobes just like a crankshaft. This offset is what determines the stroke. It's how many times you cycle through this during the various phases of the engine that determine whether the engine is a 4 cycle (4 stroke) engine.
