for some reason they escaped me. never knew the existed 'til now. i don't really have much personal use for 6-ports (outisde of my Rx-8), but i do plan on building a 6-port 12A someday, maybe i'll get them for that.

just a comment on this ...

see? this is why it is important to look into things for yourself and/or reason through it when you don't have firsthand knowledge - and i am just a guilty. as i said, i don't really mess with 6-ports for myself, but upon learning of the possibility of them causing failures, i condemned them and it was wrong on my part. as it turns out, i was just as big a dumbass.

Wow I'm surprised they would waist their time engineering something like that when all you have to do it what Bruce Turrentine did in the RA rebuild video.

Looks like my 6 port 12A sleeves are in good shape due to low mileage. Still tempting to get these Atkins sleeves though. I'll see how the money flow is when I begin buying rebuild parts.

Man I would love to do a 12a 6 port in my clean 83. Gotta be worth about 15 hp or better with the right exhaust.

I know this thread hasn't been bumped for a few months.

I installed these on my SE. It is a very high quality part and installs just like the original. I'm not sure what kind of power difference there is. My old ports were stuck and at the same time I swapped the injectors and fixed a bunch of other things.

So even if they don't really add any power, they still fit right and look good. Might as well get them then?

I got them because I hoped I'd get some hp gain. I figured since I already had to pull the intake to unstick ports that I might as well do this.

Has anyone else installed these and had any marginal gains? A before/after dyno would be ideal..
Interested in buying a set for my car, might need to coordinate some dyno time to get real results.

The air moving thru the aux actuators is not being pushed, like in a turbo. It is under vacuum, being drawn from the rotor. So how and why would the air bump into the end of the sleeve and sit in a dead cavity?

I believe you can not measure the performance gain of this repalcement part because it has no gain. It is just as good as the stock part and performs the same way. That's why there is no quatifiable proof.

For those who claim they notice an improvement, maybe it's becasue they cleaned and lubed the sleeves or replaced their crappy old gaskets in the process.

Fluids have momentum and any sudden changes in the flow path will cause turbulence and increase resistance to flow. Basic fluid dynamics.
