Thumbs up 12a tow truck

I know its not exactly "performance" but this trip put my motor over 196k miles, no porting, just a racing beat 4 barrel intake, a carter 500 non choke carb, and straight through exhaust. o and a hybrid s4/s5 na tranny (s5 box, s4 tail section) and i got like 16 mpg average over the whole trip, picked it up in everett, washington, and drove it back down to portland oregon, ~220 miles, heres some pics i took of the "tow bar" i made with nothing more then the scrap Joel had laying around his backyard...

Glad you got it back from a 220 mile trip but dont use that ghetto crap again. A REAL towbar is cheap. Buy one and save everyone there lives.

That's terrifying! How is that even allowed on the road? You're putting everyone else in danger with a rig like that.

Best hope it wasn't! 4130 is scary, it is brittle and doesn't like to be welded. You need to braze it or TIG it and then normalize it.

That... contraption looks like it was welded with jumper cables, Vise-Grips, and some loose change.

(4000? More like 5000)

Just because driving drunk works doesn't mean you should do it.

It works, until it doesn't.

I made this to tow an FC shell and I was still a little concerned. All 6 joint studs are about 5/8" diameter and the bolts to mount the ball receiver are 1/2". No, I'm not going back out into the 20 degree night to take better pictures.

Next time, just bring a friend and a tow strap. I seriously think that'd be safer.
