Trying to bring Steve Kan to Albuquerque

Like the subject reads, I've got a few friends here in town that are read, willing, and able to pay to get him out here. Just trying to feel out who else is interested.

I'll come back to bump this up periodically.

Thanks
ryan

If this is serious let me know. I've heard it over and over for a year or two now.. Im going to make a trip out there if I have too, I would much rather have her tuned here but I can't wait on everyone. So if you can get it put together I'm in! I believe he needs a minimum of 5 cars to tune.. all info is here

Awesome. . .I'm dead serious.

I've got at LEAST 1 other FOR SURE person, and I'm going to be 2 tunes myself.

I've probably got another person lined up, but not committed yet, All I was looking for was one more, and that's you apparently.

I'll talk to the other possibles, and get in touch with rotaryx.

Well, I was gonna try to get the ball rolling today, I'm not sure how long it takes to get him out here, But if you look at his schedule (link to his schedule) It's looking like June will be the soonest, only a month away. Plus, I'm sure there will be some lag just in setting everything up (flights, accomodations, getting everyone together, etc).

I'll shoot out an email and giv e a call today, and report back soon.

For any and everyone needing to know prices and options from Steve ->
(link to his requirements)

thanks

Candy, do you know anyone that I wouldn't know that would want a tune? If so, start lining them up. . .I just sent out the email to Scott at RotaryX.com to try and get this going.

Also, are you going to want to dyno tune or street tune? If several people are going to want to dyno tune, we should try and get a deal lined up with one of the facilities in town to get a discounted rate. Personally, I'd like to tune on the street and then dyno it afterward, not necessarily dyno tune though.

Lemme know.

Price info is in the link I posted for his requirements.

The date I'm trying for is June, because by my measure, looking at his posted schedule, that'll be the soonest available time.

Like I already said, I have already sent the email, so I'll relay any info as I get it.

TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW, even though we know most of the same people, some of us are in touch with others better than other folks. Lets get as many people as possible lined up so that we can get the best deal as soon as possible.

He tunes more then just rx7's if you know anyone else.. i don't know any one off the top of my head but i'll bring the idea up to anyone i know of. June would be perfect for me, enough to get all the bugs worked out of my set-up. Chris had mentioned the new awd dyno (can also dyno 2wd) out in rio rancho, maybe if we hit them up we can get a discount for a group for a half day or full day or something.

I'm not sure whether getting two tunes counts as two cars? I'll have to ask, in that case i'm also probably looking at getting two tunes. either way thats our min. of 5 people and now we just need to set a date and a deposite, from there we'll need to get a flight for him and place to stay.

so that link is to his OLD site.. his new site with updated tuning dates is here
http://forums.rotarytuner.com/stevekan/
I spoke with him and he said he's all booked up through june and has a lot of people interested in the 1st weekend in july. So if we are interested in the 1st or 2nd weekend in july I need to know that everyone is serious so I can request the date. He'll then need the deposit 3 weeks prior to tuning date. Lets get the ball rolling! I need everyones input on whether they want the 1st or 2nd weekend. (keep in mind 1st weekend is july 4th weekend)

Definitely say we want that week in July. I've got my deposit in hand at any time as does everyone on the confirmed list I posted above. I've spoken with each of them, and they're all committed.

As far as accomodations. . .if he's down, he can stay at my house. If he wants his own hotel room, we'll have to pitch on that as well.

To reiterate, definitely lock down the first available weekend in July.

Thanks for helping me out with this Candy.

I think 1st or 2nd week is fine with me. I just need to check with the other groups and make sure they're not in conflict with you guys.

Steve -

Is the $200 deposit for the whole tuning session, or for each person?

When will the session be posted on the site (THE SITE)?

How far in advance do we need to get the waivers and deposit to you?

thanks
ryan

ryan,
The $200 deposit is per person. Since I pay for my travel expenses, this is where the deposit come into play in order to commit myself to the trip. I need to book my flight 3 weeks prior to the tuning day so getting all the deposit one month before the event is ideal for me.

i will update the site later today to reflect your group.

Steve

So guys, there you have it. . .Steve is coming in the first weekend in July. Finally.

So everyone make sure you have $200 ready by the end of this month so that we can get together and give Steve his deposit. Then one more month to be sure you have the remainder of it.

I'm going to get in touch of the folks that run the dragway and see if we can rent it out for a few days to do our street tuning on. That way we don't have to worry about getting tickets, about traffic anywhere, or any other unexpected hazard. If it is cost prohibitive, we'll have to figure something else out.

Thanks everyone for finally making this happen.
ryan
