little update from my world: i tracked down the man with the title to my FB. told him the situation with how i acquired the car and the situation i was in without the title. Him and i talked for a few minutes and he said he is willing to file for a lost title then have it signed and notarized so he can give it to me
Sounds like you need a complete spare motor with a new starter and waterpump for $200 bucks. I will meet you in wolf creek?

hey sean. i just saw your post about our gas having 10% ethanol... its up to 10% according to the stickers on the pump. i know some car companies like Gm are or were advertising that as a gas saver with their whole "flexfuel" bs. i know your question is on performance but its not a gas saver you actually get a little worse mileage... they just put it out there for emissions.

What is there to fiberglass if you have new fenders? I am confused here the only thing you should have to do is maybe a little filler for scratches etc. Don't the Mazdatrix ones replace the whole fender?

Haha never mind I am an idiot. You mean for painting. Yeah I will help out all I can.

well, yeah i did call like 10 mins after i got done searchin for it.

and more bad news. the turbo came with water in the compressor housing. not much, like a 1/4 cup. but still!! and the rotors are (were) caked with carbon. and the motor was attached to an auto.

so i'm thinkin that it was at least taken care of somewhat.

anyway, i'm gonna keep blackie (the new shell) s4 for now with the s5 motor, since i don't have an ecu yet. or a bov. intake box. oh kyle. the s5 lights look KILLER on the black car!!!! sorry man!! lol

the new shell came with new carpet (black), and recovered door parts. the strut tower brace, s5 turbo mani and turbo.

dudes, i'm JACKED!!!!! WWOOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOO!!!!!

Not positive on that around 40k is what we can put together. The starter is new and the water pump. Tom (The guy I bought it from) put the new starter on just before I picked it up and I installed the new water pump. I can make no guarantees on the motor it started up and ran well. If nothing else the waterpump and starter are worth more then that.

If you are serious about this I will let it go for $150 bucks. That goes for anyone in the Helena Great Falls area. Or to anyone who wants to come pick it up. I will meet in Wolf Creek if needed.

Like I said the only good parts that came with my Jspec where the Rebuild able Turbo, Intake Manifolds, Throttle Body, and Fuel Rails. All for the lovely price of $1100 shipped.

Chances are the wiring harness that came with your motor is an N374 and that is no good. You will find out when your wipers don't work and neither does your cruise control. You will be better off splicing your 2 wires for the N/A harness then finding the 8 or so wires and making a new harness for the wipers etc. So do check and make sure what you have.

Yeah I know about the whole ethonal mileage. I was just concerned with how it will cause a 3% lean increase across your fuel map.

Already got it figured out.

Ransom, I may have found a dyno in town
It is a performance shop by the base called Performance Improvment Center and their website claims to have a chasis dyno. I left a message today and will call first thing tomorrow to confirm.

Cross your fingers!

Yeah its from the 60's and I am not even gonna think about doing 3rd gear pulls on that thing. That is where I had my ford tuned. He is a good guy but that is not going to do the job.

Apparently there's one in Bozman, and we're taking about 20 cars there all at once in the late spring. Free Dyno all day.

I'll try to find out where it's at.

Yeah the Ryan dude from performance tuning was a little on the dick side. He basically was trying to steer me away from tuning on his dyno and was offering to go out on the road with me and tune. I giggled and said thanks but no thanks.

I did not know about the dynos age...that blows.

BUT i did go out today and did some 4th gear pulls at WOT!! ******* FAST, no joke. The down side is my wastegate is ****. That is what I get for believing the guys who sweared that this "HKS replica" held 12 psi and did in fact have a 12lb spring. I was boosting 17.7 psi at 6000 rpm in 4th gear and my boost controller OFF.

I accidentally hit 19.2 psi another pull in 4th at about 6500 rpm. Thank god for the pressure drop my intercooler causes AND my air intake temps were 22*C. Pressure in the motor was probably more like 17.7 or 18 psi. After that I was like, no more until I get an authentic HKS 40MM.

I can however floor it in second and I hit 15.3 psi each time but I have very little traction. 3rd gear feels the BEST but I hit around 18 psi by about 6K and just don't want to push it because this 62-1 is just starting to breathe at that rpm.

All my AFR's were 10.1-10.4 WOT.

FUN DAY and I feel a little bit of relief since my Fuel map curve tuning I have been doing all this year has paid off. The only part I needed to tune was above 12psi and then making my top end boost pressures way rich and simply removing 3% increments of fuel until I got it right.

ok, so time for me to update. so i pulled the turbo off the jdm motor, and when i turned it upside down, there was water coming out of it.

so i'm going to be using superstock's that came with the package deal. probably won't be driving till i get my financial aid to get my alignment done and exaust.

my clutch/flywheel combo are on the way. should be here tomorrow.

tell ya what, that s4 shell i get from superstock is awsome!! just little dings here and there to sand and fill, and this thing will be just about perfect!! and the s5 lights look KILLER!!! once i find some internet that's NOT the work computer, i'll be getting some pics in here for all to see.

i'll catch you guys later!!!
