I kind of lost touch with everyone when I quit school in 5th for homeschool.. I went back to Paris for 7th Grade for a while but ended up leaving again.. Is that where your Mom is living there on Central?

no dude, its my grandmother. I was home last year with Seth to put in my engine and drive our cars back to Cali. I took her for a ride and I swear she about had a stroke. I really haven't keep in touch with anyone either, you know Great Falls though, you always run into everybody eventually. Thats funny man. I remember when Nathan pissed everywhere. Wasn't he scared cause he thought your house was haunted? So how far are you on the sawp? You are a brave soul for going NA to Turbo, lot of work. I have been tinkering here and there on my car just burning time waiting on the arrival of my clutch. It is crazy how much faster these cars are down here at sea level. Drastic change!

Well I should be getting my Motor back here in a few weeks. I sent it off to Daryl Drummond for a rebuild, some oil mods and a street port. I had a couple bad housings.I am getting new housings and stock 2mm seals.I was going to go with 2mm ceramics but I won't be pushing over 500hp on this motor anyway also I wasn't going to spend the extra 1,000 to get it doweled and pinned. He has had the motor for about 7 months now. He is a very busy guy. I bought a S5 turbo tranny and rearend. I was taking everything apart to put in the new bushing kit I got and my Toe links and or Lateral links are toast so I am going to replace those with an adjustable set because the stock ones cost more.. I don't really understand why everyone is so afraid of the N/A to Turbo swap its really not that big of a deal.I had to chop the wiring for the wiper motors out of my N/A harness and I will not have any cruise control becuase I don't feel like splicing everything it need to run into the Turbo Harness.I have learned so much about the car by going this route. Then again I have not run into any problems yet. I still need to get the Turbo rebuilt it has lots and lots of play. INjectors cleaned, driveline, clutch, couple guages, boost controller, and a couple of hose clamps, flywheel resurfaced, radiator cleaned and tested etc . All in all I need another about 2,000 in parts maybe less.About the only thing I will not have touched will be the brakes haha.Although I will have to do something about the brakes because the rotors on the rearend I got are a little rusty so if i can have them turned I will. If not buy some new ones.

I have a new walbro, Bov, throttle calbe, boost sensor, ecu , harness, Afm, 3inch Dp and presilencer, 5 inch supertrapp with an endcap , and what not. I keep letting myself get side tracked and spending way to much money on things I don't really have to have to get it running. I bought a Carbon hood because it was on sale for a limited time. I bought a set of Tein Coilovers because I really wanted them. Now I seem to be on Track though.

My original plan was to rebuild the N/a and get a camden kit but after some thought and research I decided that was not the way I wanted to go. I had bougth a lot of parts to go that way before I decided not to. I bought a clutch and OMP lines I have since sold all that stuff and taken a bit of a loss but its okay.

I should have it done and running by the end of June for sure. I really have a lot of work left to do.I have lots of Vac ports to pull and plug. Its really never ending I have already done a lot of work to it but now my main concern is getting the motor in and get it running.. Then I will have to think about wheels and tires. I guess it really never ends.

I have heard there is a big difference at sea level.

Yeah I think that was it he didn't want to go upstairs to the bathroom because he was scared or something.

Hah you really should not kill your Grandma.

As far as the Swap being a lot of work this is true but I am taking care of a lot of other things I that needed it along the way also. I have a very addictive personality and the project gives me something more constructive to do other then drink and do drugs wich I had a pretty big problem with most of my life. I am getting over those times now and using this project as kind of a goal for myself to start doing something better with my life. Thankfully I met a good woman and she got me to realize that there is a lot more to life then just drinkin and smokin. Wich is a really good thing because I don't spend all my money on drinking and smokin but I guess I spend it all on the car now. Haha

Congrats on the change of pace in you life Ransom. These cars are very time consuming and if you make the experience good then it is time well spent. This past two weeks I have been basicaly doing the same thing to my car. Anything that I took with a grain of salt is fixed now and done the proper way, well since my engine is out it seems like a good time to do it. little **** like re-wiring my harness, replacing sensors and removing the already unused emissions rats nest. It looks so much cleaner with that removed. I have learned quite a bit as well, when you get neck deep in these vehicles it is enevitable. Whats the deal with the super trap? Don't you want as much free flowing exhaust as possible, less back pressure, more power? Very curious, I know Kyles dad has a reason for it.

What are you going to do for a fuel system? I had my factory injectors with the stock S5 turbo (pushed 12 to 13lbs steady) and the HKS piggy back but now that it is street ported I am a little concerned with pushing them past their duty cycle limit. Same might go for you dude since yours is ported as well, I am going to do more research and I will keep you posted. ( I have heard horror stories of stock injectors shitting out after prolong use in conjunction with those previous mentioned conditionsor mods) Great news about finding a good girl as well? Ijust married in Oct and had a gorgeous little girl on the 11th of Feb. I hope the best for you both.

Haha, you should of saw my grams face, and thats when it was close to stock. No way she is getting a ride next time im home. You will have to get some video of when you start her up in June, I am going to post the dyno video when I go in a month, hoping for about 350 max(still want it streetable ) Have you tried to rebuild an engine yourself?

Yeah It worries me a little but I am planning on getting a wideband to keep a close eye on the fuel situation.I am having the wastegate ported to hopefully keep boost in line.If I run into problems I will just resend my ECU to corksport and have it modded for 720 secondaries.I am having them get rid of the fuel cut and do some fine tuning.

Supertrapps are not restrictive at all. They creat a Venturi effect and actually flow more then some conventional wide open mufflers. They can be tuned for noise and flow.I bought an endcap with a hole in it so I don't have to run 20 some odd discs. They can also be used to tune for low and high end power gains. They are rebuildable and great mufflers. You can also tune them kind of like a spark plug if the endcaps is a nice golden color you know you have the right amount of discs and flow. if they are black a charred your running it rich and if they are just staying the same color you are lean.

I talked to your mom a while ago and she told me about ya getting married but I did not know you had a child. That is sweet kids are a bunch of fun.

I have not tried rebuilding an engine myself yet. I plan on getting a 12a for my rx3 I am going to run as an scca racecar. I was thinking about rebuilding that on my own and just sending the housings off for porting but I am not sure as that is going to be down the road a little.. There are a few really good videos with exploded posters and what not. http://www.diy-re.co.nz/ I think it would not be to difficult if you have the right tools to check housings to see if they are in spec and what not..

I am pretty lucky I have kyle and his dad to help me out a lot. Kyles car has been kind of the Guinea Pig for mine. I have helped him and watched a lot of the things he has been doing that I am also going to do. Going bare block and throttle body mod and a few other things. Kyles dad lets me race his Rx3 too so that is cool..

Do you have MSN messenger or anything? If so you should add me chibikougan@hotmail.com. I don't know if I can get a vid of when I fire it up. I don't own a video camera. I don't even know if I can get ahold of one. I will see what I can do. I am hoping to have it done by June but that timetable seems to be getting kind of hard to reach. I guess I just have to get to work and make some more money to get all this done. Then there is the work I have to get done. Should be running for sure by August. That is a definate time it should be running by unless some unforseen problems.. Kyle and I are going to try and hit up a dyno sometime this summer..

Seth and I have done about five rebuilds now and would have done this engine but given being down here in Cali for the Montana Air Guard and all the tools are back home make it difficult. I think if we had a lot more rebuild experience it would be a much easier task, you kind of find yourself doubting specs ans so on. Just so expensive if you are to miss some minor but drastic detail. I never thought about Corksport for chip upgrade, I knew of their site just forgot they did that, I called HKS and asked if they could chip my F-con with 720cc for secondaries and they said no. All they had was the upgrade ROM to work with their specific turbo. I got the ROM anyway because the specs for my hybrid new turbo were almost exact with the HKS turbo, funny thing is the chip is still for the 550cc injectors. Makes me wonder what that little black box is cabable of?

Where did you run into my good old Mom at? Did she recongnize ya? You got the same situation with kyle and his dad like I got with Seth. It is nice to have a "rotary mentor" and to learn from their mistakes. Too bad for Seth though, he has just lost his passion for cars altogether, even his 3rd gen. I think he is just fed up with all the bullshit that goes with high performance vehicles. He is into investing and the stock market....yawn!! He thinks cars are a bad investment now but whats the point of having money and not having a little fun with it geared towards your passion? Maybe he will come around. Kids are great, my daughters name is Charlee Grace. It is hard being down here away from my wife and daughter but it could always be worse. (Iraq)
She is attending MSU Bozeman nursing school in Great falls and has a little more then a year left. We tried to see if she could transfer down here but she would lose majority of here credits(such bull). I see them about every two months which isn't bad but not enough for me, just glad she is busy with school and Vharleeso it keeps her mind off of worrying about me and our distance. I feel bad when I complain how busy my day is, nothing compared to what she is doing. Love her to death!! All my family and her family are there too and they are a great help with little Charlee. It will be nice when she moves down. The car in a way is my comfort, it helps keep my mind off of the situation. THANK GOD FOR PHONES!

Sounds like your car is gonna be a monster too dude, you will have fun!! I dont have MSN messenger but my email is rxseanbobmur@yahoo.com, drop a message when ya want. I need to check into messanger anyway, been meaning to do it for a while.

Just checked out superTrapp site, pretty cool ****! Seems like it is geared more towards ATV and motorcycles. Did Kyle notice a difference? Learn something new everyday huh?

It is geared towards everything. They just make most of there sales to motorcycles as to where that is where there design and Kuker exhausts are for. Either way you can run it with discs or you can take them off and it is an open exhaust..Kyle said with 6 discs on the 5 inch it is overspooling his turbo.

I feel you on the whole being away most of the time. My GF lives in Missoula and is working and going to school there. I usually don't go over like 3 to 4 weeks without seeing her.

Yeah Kyle and Clint are good guys.

AGHHHH! Im gonna kick clutchcityonline.com's ***! They ended up sending me the wrong ******* friction disc. It is the disc for the Exedy Stage 1 heavy duty pp kit, NOT the ACT one I ordered. I figured this out after TWO transmission installation and removals. The car wouldn't go into gear when it was running with the new clutch installed. So I thought maybe my flywheel was needing a resurface, so I did that and still wouldn't go into gear. The damn problem was the Pressure Plate teeth on the inside were hitting the inner circle of the disc(where the 4 springs are), the exedy disc was too tall therefore causing it to bind. WHAT A PAIN IN THE ***!! I find out Monday what Clutchcity is goona do about their mistake!
