You need to realize that is a great car. Not only for fun but a great learning tool to get while you get into a better financial standing. I have one now I am getting to know it I will help you with a few free mods we can do to it.
I mean I put almost 8g's into my 2nd gen before it even ran.I am getting ready to dump another almost 5g's atleast and I still need wheels, paint, etc. That first gen has cost me I think around $73 bucks and it will run.
Sean 5g's you get a new motor? Whats going on in that head of yours? If it means dyno and tuning time you should let me know as I might also be in the need.Group rates and all.

NO, no no.. I am rebuilding my engine. I just bought a 99 Chrysler 300M for 5g's(Got to love that Lithia employee discount). Very reliable..me like.
As for my car I am starting the rebuild. Should have her running by Jan(does no good if there is snow though).
Total for my 7 i have spent about 9000$(4,000 for the car) and it will be about 2,500 after this build, turbo set up and suspension components. These cars do love the mula.
How you doing Ransom?
You own another money gobbling, air polluting 7?

Sorry guys is too late to save him. ha ha, He sold it to some lame *** kid that will soon turn it into a ricer mobile. I do stand with you guys they tend to be cheaper on maintaining than a 2nd or 3rd gen. He should have just suck with it but now he is on the look out for a 2nd gen. I'd roll with a 1st gen for a daily they are cool. I'm still workin of finding a winter car so i can do some winter stuff to my car. Like clutch, engine and transmission mounts. And finally do that oil fix. And change out some rear end parts like subframe and all the other rustyish parts. Maybe a new seat and steering wheel and what ever other good stuff I can manage to get.

That cool RX4's are sweet. I want one ha ha. But ya welcome to the thread. Be sure to keep us updated with your 4's. Ha ha thats a little different. I'm used to sayin, keep us updated on your 7.
Ha ha, Him put on that turbo. I'm pretty sure he would if he wasnt lazy and maybe had a little time. It only takes like and hour to do. And he also still needs to get a gasket for the manifold to turbo. Then it is a snap to put it on. But those injectors worked I had to scrounge up some small parts from some N/A injectors I had and do a lil modification to them. But they the car doenst act like crap like it did before. I'll get that money for those injectors to you by at least friday. And I'll get on my bro in-law for that turbo also he should have the money for that by friday too.

Thanks bro, Friday works out great!!
I took apart that S4 motor to see if I could use the rotors and.......they were fucked. It siezed pretty bad, to the point where I couldn't remove the intermediate housing because the E shaft was rotated fartherest away from the short end of the lobe(ya know where you have to lift the E shaft an inch to take the plate off at an angle). Sooo the rear rotor was dinged up bad due to an apex seal breaking during the sieze. You guys should see the burns up on most of the bearings. Pretty sweet colors due to the extreme temps.
This kinda puts my hopes for a cheap rebuild to a halt because it makes me wonder how bad the damage is in my engine. I hope that the e-shaft isn't burned to bad. Anyhow this build/tune is gonna be hell considering all the work that is gonna be involved. Rebuilding the engine is cake, tuning this mega squirt and actually getting the settings down so the car runs nice is gonna be a challenge....but worth it in the end(i hope). If I keep this turbo setup I should hit close to 40o on the dyno if not 380. That is my goal but it is still a pipe dream.

Ya. Mine were about done. It probably didnt help that I ran a Hi Imp. Compter on Low Imp. Injectors for a while. Now I have Hi Imp. Computer and injectors And I got that F-Con in there too. Right now I'm converting an NA engine harness to turbo. Took about a day. Started yesterday. And now I'm about done. Just have to put it in and see if everything works out. I was thinkin that you should leave your car here till summer. And come back and take it for a drive with all of us cool RX7 guys. But anyways uh, just keep us updated on what you been doin and stuff. Alright.
Later on.

Hey guys, got a question for ya. I revved up my car yesterday to 8k and after doing so it backfired really loud. I didn't think much of it until the car kept backfiring over and over again and I noticed a lack in power. I figured i might have blew a seal so I pulled over to check for smoke or smell coolant. Both checked out fine but my idle was down to 500rpms or so. After driving around to diagnose i noticed my bov wasn't going off but just making this high pitched squeel even after I opened the throttle plates again. This morning I found out my bov isn't opening hardly at all, but my boost gauge shows that i'm making boost. When I took off the bov to check it out the valve opened and closed properly. I'm kinda at a loss for answers now. Any ideas?

Were you tryin to keep up with your rx7 buddies out there? Revvin it to 8k . Well I'm not sure what you did this time. Did you go through all your vac lines that go to your BOV. And recheck all of your ground wires. I'm not sure on this one. So maybe when someone else sees this they might know whats goin on. But anyways when are you comin back to visit your first rx7 crew. I was hoping you could take a cruise with us in your 7, but you already shipped it. Oh well just keep us updated and stuff.
