I recently purchased a 10th anniversary edition rx7 and went looking for parts. I ran across an ad on Facebook in a group called " FC Rx7 Restoration Group" where a person named Matt Montgomery was selling a steering wheel and other 10ae specific parts I needed.

I started to inquire about the parts when I noticed multiple posts for the same parts and then looked at the ad thoroughly only to find it was a scam. I commented on the parts not being correct and was blocked from the group as he was the moderator of.

I posted my experience in the main rx7 group on Facebook and found the seller is a known scammervand profiteer that is able to run scams on new people through his group and two other groups his friends run. However hes disliked among the community and is constantly called out for scamming people and blocking them when they call him out.

needless to say I didn't purchase anything from him but i felt it necessary to put it out there for people to see the type of person this guy is and the lies about the parts he is trying to sell to make more than their actually worth.

Here are screen shots from the thread on the main group. It's clear he is disliked and is not welcome in most groups. A few tried to ignore that he was just caught red handed scamming by saying they didn't get scammed, but that means nothing. He just tried to sell me 10ae parts that are not 10ae parts and he knew it.

I just wanted to share another example of the lies, scams and profiteering he has been doing and promoting. Beware his group and his sales. You are either overpaying or being scammed.







He uses multiple fake accounts

More blatant lies about his parts for sale. Those are 89-91 s5 door panels, not 1988 10th anniversary edition panels.

Here is an example of what him.and his friend are doing. Its destroying the rotary community.

 

It's just an account posting pictures of you claiming that your convertible fc rx7 parts are rare 10ae parts and lying saying a cracked and destroyed dash has no cracks and is perfect. You post crap like this weekly all over Facebook and everyone is sick of it. Just because a few of your internet friends are admins on the groups you think it's ok to do this crap and ban anyone who calls you out on it.

 

Yeah, who cares who is calling out this scammer because it's clear as day those are not 10ae parts he is trying to sell as 10ae parts. Also that dash is destroyed and he's blatantly lying about its condition. I've watched him price gouge for years and create many enemies but it's clear he is just scamming at this point.

 

This isn't related to RX7Club and I don't see anything about parts not being delivered. As much as I don't like Matt's practices this is a slam post against him that is not relevant on this forum.

first it's a free market nobody can say what another person has to list their property for. second of all if you can't even see that Joe Maddox has several accounts in here that's bad for people here.
