Tuxedo Park Racing in Il

just wanted to let everyone know that Tuxedo has recently got a dyno and will be doing dyno tuning for 100 an hour. They are a great shop and Steve really knows what he is doing and is a honest guy. Great shop so If you need any work done I advise that you get in contact with them. they also rent out bays with or with out lifts for a reasonable price. They were a big help.

I would have to agree! I actually just got a letter from them the other day, Thanking me for doing business with them/Christmas card.

I only had my car tuned there once. Had a miner problem and they set me up with a drill and some bits to get it done. Very cool people to deal with. If I didn't do all my work my self or live so far away, They would have a lot of my business.

LOL... yeah they've had the Dyno for a while, and yes, they are great people to do business with! I highly recommend them!

The coolest thing happening there lately is the hourly rental bays! Dirt cheap and they even have a lift bay for rent!

They're having an open house on Jan. 27th... go check it out!

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

Eric - starting January 3rd we will be offering hourly rental of shop space, a lift bay, and select shop tools. Tim was our first customer - sort of a trial run if you will.

I don't want to cross link to advertisements on other forums but all the info is up now on a couple of local sites we sponsor I'm sure you can track it down. We'll get it up on our website when we get back from vacation on the first.

Thanks again everyone and have a great holiday!

Steven

This is what TUXEDO PARK RACING now offers.

Hourly lift and shop space rental pricing finalized!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are the hours and rates for our "rent a bay" program. This is an excellent opportunity to get in out of the cold and work on you vehicle in a clean, spacious, productive environment at a reasonable cost.

Please note that TPR will be operating on a reduced staff and limited hours through the remainder of the December holiday season. We would appreciate it if you could postpone your reservation requests until after the first of the year. Rent a bay service does not begin until January 3rd.

Standard rental space hours – reservations required. Rental space is located in our Sauget Warehouse location, just off the Poplar Street bridge on Illinois Rt. 3.

Monday Closed

Tuesday 10 – 8

Wednesday 9 – 5

Thursday 10 – 8

Friday 9 – 5

Saturday 10 – 8

Sunday 10 – 6

Rates - two hour minimum:

Basic bay (no lift) $5/hour

Lift bay: $12/hour

Storage: rolling vehicle - $7.50/day, on jackstands $15.00, unscheduled overnight storage $7.50.

All rentals include: Dedicated jack stands, air hose, drop light, extension cord, 14x22’ work space, compressed air, heat, 100v power, drain pan. Shared access to engine hoist, engine stands, transmission jacks.

Lift bay also includes high rise transmission jack and high rise drain pan. Tuxedo Park Racing staff will assist you with positioning your car on the lift at no additional charge.

Oil based fluids and coolant resulting from service to your vehicle may be disposed of at no charge. No disposal of fluids from outside the shop. No gasoline disposal.

Many general and special service tools are available at an additional charge. Most add-on tool rental is charged per day, and is typically $5-10. Some tools require a deposit. A roll-around with basic hand and air tools is available for $15/day with a deposit. First come, first served on all add-on tools. Rental includes instruction on safe and effective use in most cases. If there is something specific you need, check with us before you come. We do not rent spring compressors due to risk associated with unsupervised use. We will publish a complete tool rental rate sheet on our website in mid-January.

No tools may leave the building under any circumstance. No tools not listed on the rate sheet will be rented or loaned under any circumstance.

Tuxedo Park Racing staff will do our best to accommodate your needs and to provide advice and guidance within reason, and when shop work schedule permits. You should expect to be pretty much on your own. Excessive consultation will be billed at shop rate of $60/hour, as will any hands on work we do. You will be warned before we start the billing clock.

For additional questions, please refer to our FAQ below or e-mail info@tuxedoparkracing.com or call (618) 874-8003.

FAQ's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frequently asked questions:

Your hours don't work for me, can I come in at a different time?

Generally, no. But you are always welcome to check with us if you need to come in early or stay late. We may be able to accomodate you if other work requires our presence at the shop. Don't forget - appointments are required under all circumstances! We hope to offer walk-in service later in the year.

What if I can't finish within my scheduled time?

If no one is waiting on the space you are renting, you may continue to work as long as Tuxedo Park Staff are on site. You will be given 30 minutes warning prior to the next renter and/or close of business. If space is available you may continue work the next day. There is a $7.50 fee for unscheduled overnight stays.

What if I still can't finish?

You must vacate the rent-a-bay space prior to the next scheduled appointment. If the car is undrivable or you are waiting on parts, it may be stored at $7.50 per day if it rolls, or $15.00 per day on jackstands.

But what if my whole suspension is on the floor and I can't move the car?

If your car is in a non-lift bay, it can usually stay where it is at the storage rates above. Lift bays must be vacated prior to the next scheduled appointment and all standard rental hours your car spends in the lift bay are billed at $12.50 per hour.

But don't despair, where there's a will there's a way. We have the tools and experience to move your car to a storage bay safely, regardless of the state of disassembly. If you are unable to move it yourself, we will be glad to move it for you at our standard shop rate.

Is it safe to leave my car at your shop?

Tuxedo Park Racing cannot and will not assume liability for your property. That said, our building is fenced and the entrance gate and parking lot are patrolled regularly by local police, additionally the shop itself has an alarm system. Our facility is also equipped with an automatic sprinkler system. Your car will be stored inside our heated and secure shop at all times. But there are no guarantees in life, and if you don't feel comfortable leaving your car, don't!

Will your insurance cover me if I get hurt?

No! You will be required to sign a waiver before using any TPR tools, space or equipment. We will instruct you on the safe use of any equipment you use, but we assume that you have a basic working knowledge of how to work on a car safely. If you cannot take responsibility for yourself and your actions, we encourage you to work elsewhere. We do have plenty of band-aids on hand!

What if I break one of your tools?

We are reasonable people. If something breaks in the normal course of use, and no abuse is evident, we won't ask you to replace it. However we will not be liable for any incidental damage to your person or property. You are 100% responsible for any lost tool or damage due to misuse or abuse.

Please rent me spring compressors and other dangerous tools!

We're not willing to take that chance. If you would like us to swap your springs we will do so for $10 per loose assembly (i.e. hand us the strut, off the car). We also do not allow any torch work in our shop except by TPR staff. If you intend to do any welding please call ahead for advance permission. Other restrictions may apply.
