Steve Kan Tuning Information

Steve Kan will be in St.Louis from February 23th to February 26th. He'll be tuning on February 24th and 25th which falls on a saturday and sunday. His rate is $350 for a complete tune which requires a deposit of $200.

Deposits can be sent to my address. I'll hand the deposits over to Steve when he arrives.

Dyno time is $85/Hr

Tuxedo Park Racing is located in the same building as Penthouse Club.

Here is what they will offer us:

1. Two mechanics.
2. We will have access to all of his facilities for the weekend.
3. Intercomp scales will be available for corner weights.
4. A Lift and tools will be available incase a problem were to arise.
5. Fabrication/Machine shop/Welding is available in case it’s needed.
6. Brand new Dynopack 3000 w/wideband and boost transducer.

Everyone needs to make a checklist before Steve Kan arrives. This is what he said in an earlier post.

"Here're some items to inspect/replace before the dyno. New plugs (less than 1k miiles), new fuel filter (less than 5k miles), inspect spark plug wires, oil change, full tank of whatever gas you normally run, inspect tires (no nails or anything that can fly out during the dyno), inspect coolant fluid (change if necessary), clean air filter, put all the mods in that you plan to run before coming to the dyno (I don't think there'll be enough time to install them on the same day)."

Eric I need to be the second or thrid guy getting dynoed because my plane leaves sat. night at 8:30 to go back to FL. Also I dont want to be the first person because my car boost creeps in the cold, so if I go in the afternoon the temps will be the warmest during that time.

Well, I asked you if it was ok back when I sent in my deposit and you said it was cool. Also I used to be the 4th guy on the list and now I am the 6th????

 

Well the #1 guy lives in ID so he prolly wont be here till later and maybe Gary will let me cut infront of him?? That will put me at #2 or #3. My car has no problems so it should go quickly.

 

Well, you've got boost creep. I would say that's a big problem.

PM Gohandrift3, he might swap with you. Gary won't swap with you, he's got plans in the evening.

I can't beleive you would make plans to fly out the same day you're getting tuned. You were originally #5, the number 5 spot usually doesn't get tuned until 7pm. I moved you back one because someone was driving 10 hours to get here. I forgot about telling you that I would move you ahead of everyone.

Anyhow, pm gohan........... he'll probably let you go infront of him. He still needs to rebuild his engine so we're not sure if he'll even make it.

 

Shop temperature shouldn't ever drop below about 60 with the current exhaust fan setup. We've been dynoing for hours at a time this winter without ever getting cold.

 

Well if that is the case then I prolly wont creep. If it dips down in the 50s I could be in trouble......
