Hello all,

Tuxedo Park Racing will be hosting an open house January 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

We are lining up a number of our partners and key vendors to be on hand, and there will be plenty to see and do. Snacks and soft drinks will be free, we are also working on getting some "real food" i.e. barbecue or such available at a very fair price.

Other highlights - shop tours of our mechanical, fabrication and machine shop. Demonstration pulls on our Dynapack chassis dyno, and much more.

We already have lots of cool cars lined up to show from all-out race cars to street show cars. If you would like to get your car into the indoor show send me the details and if we have room we'd love to have you. We have 20,000 square feet indoors, and if the weather cooperates a huge parking lot for a show/meet. Rotaries and Mazdas get first dibs of course.

I'll be posting more details as they become available - mark you calendars!

p.s. Our shop is located in Sauget Il, just off the Poplar Street Bridge and if you know the area you know there will be plenty of party opportunities right next door after the meet.

Hmmm, count me in on this. I need to meet some of you rotorheads from STL/ SW-IL. I don't have an RX-7 though, and won't have one for a long time.

But I will be there for sure!

Oh yeah, just look for the skinny white guy with alot of tattoos and a crown royal hat.

 

Very cool, I'll try to make this. I need a good place to have some custom fabrication work done from CAD dxf drawings for me anyways and would be a good way to get to know the area (just moved here from arizona).

 

this is great. i feel kinda alone in stl when it comes to rotaries. itll be nice to go and meet more people. i hope i can walk on my broken leg my the time this rolls in.

 

I'm thinking we need a small car show to go with this. So here's the deal - if you want to get your car a guaranteed spot indoors, e-mail me (steve@tuxedoparkracing.com) with a brief description. I need to figure out how much space we'll have but I'm thinking I'll invite the best 8-12 cars.

So if you make the show we'll do some prizes, I'll guarantee $100 cash to the winner. And some kind of trophies. Might be able to do some more prizes I'll see if I can get any sponsers to cough up.

The rules are simple. Mazda power required. Rotary gets a couple of extra points. Beyond that it just has to impress me. Craftsmanship and the right parts for the car's purpose are the main thing that I will judge on. So handling, power, show or any combination could win it.

If I can get sponsors to cough up I'll also do a prize based on voting by the people who come to the open house.

sounds cool steve ill try to make it i am putting my car back together now, gettin ready for another dyno day. should be fun and there are plenty of nice things to look at next door afterwards.

Oh yeah, did I mention that it looks like our neighbors will be sending down some trophy girls to present the prize?

 

I will request off to go. My car looks like ****. It got hit by hail, and needs repainting. I will show up.

 

It's a Saturday, won't be able to go. Probably be working at the new job at that time. Oh well, maybe when spring comes around I can meet some of ya.

Ok guys, now lets get some of you showing your cars! It's a Racers Car Show! These guys will drool over the coolness of the ride, or the build quality, not necessarily how shiny it is! If my IT car wasn't a home for some sort of rodent right now, I'd be bringing it out! (Since it might be heading to TPR at some point for a motor swap anyway)

 

Yeah, lets go guys, get your cars out there send me some e-mails. Sovietcong your car really could win the show - that's all we're looking for here, interesting Mazda stuff - remember we're in East St. Louis - it's not freaking Barrett Jackson.



Oh yeah - I posted to the Mazda 3 club and they are kicking your asses as far as responses to the car show go. You gonna let that happen?

I'd offer to show my car 'cept mine's just a restored (technically still restoring) GSL-SE that really appeals to nobody but myself. Plus it still needs paint, Arizona desert had its way with it

 

Your car would most likely be a show winner compared to the second gens around here

 

I should have my SCCA car there, if you like the bodywork and paint job I know a guy who will give you a great price and quality job. Our car had a tree land on it and several hail storms. Look for the SCCA Solo FP178 car. Hopefully I will make it there. I don't think my Rx7 will be out there unless I take the plates off my mustang. I see what I can do.

I'm going to Tennesee Sunday to buy a 95' Nissan 240, would that be welcome? I want to see what you guys added to the place.

 

Everyone and every car is welcome, but only Mazda powered and/or bodied cars can enter the "official" car show.

Come on out, I think you'll like what we've done with the place!
