Proposal for all Stl people
Proposal for all Stl people
I am sick of dealing with this car. I am in over my head and don't know what the hell to do anymore. I am running on about 3.5 hours of sleep and don't want to do anything anymore. I will pay the first person who comes to my house and finishes the bullshit I started $200 cash upon finishing. Anybody that knows a considerable amount should be able to figure this out relatively shortly. I have given up on working on my car, I'm taking it to the pros from now on. This is a serious offer, my phone number is 314-324-0203.

Yea i have a garage...I have the damn thing all apart again. I need to figure out why it won't ******* stay running. Here is the story...
"I got myself into something I didn't realize I was getting into. I put a new stock turbo, and while doing that I decided to remove the ACV while I was at it. The air pump also got removed. I figured while I was doing that I would put my injectors in too, turns out they are for S4's instead of S5's so I'm pissed about that. I manage to break a few vacuum lines, (no big deal picked up some more hose this morning) I get everything back together, I think, and go to sleep at 4 am this morning. Wake up at 8 and go to the auto parts store to get some vacuum lines. Come back home hook those up, splice the o2 sensor back in (the female connector just fell off the wire) and go to start it up. All it does is crank. I find out I forgot to plug something in that is underneath the top mount and get that taken care of. Now the car starts up to 1500, then dies right away. I figured out that if I push the accelerator down about 1/2 throttle it starts up like a 3k warmup, then all of a sudden revs to about 5k and slowly rises. I don't know what to do anymore. I worked on it from 10 pm til 4 am last night, and have been at it since about 9:00 am this morning."

I don't know why I try and do this stuff, I can never seem to do it right. I am really pissed now, and really really want to have it running for tomorrow so Kan can tune it.

No, unfortunately not. I live in webster/affton area. I'll probably be up at 10ish to get started. I need to get some more vac lines though. I started taking it all apart again and more broke. I'm just going to buy enough to replace whatever comes off. I have quite a task tomorrow/today.
I have an 89' tII also and have done same stuff. Do what Hailers said, if the throttle cable and idle stop screw are not happily aligned. Your car will not idle for ****. If you still need help let me know, I'm free today and have an FSM. I'm no guru, but have ran into the same problems you have several times.

Go there if you do not have a manual. Then go to page F2-35. I believe it is called the throttle adjust screw(idle stop). But if you haven't tampered with it, it should be good. When you remove the UIM the throttle cable might bind upon reinstalling that would be the first thing I would check. Also where it hooks up to the back of the throttle body. The "idle stop screw" is also located at the rear of the TB and you have to take the IC to access it.

Alright, I think I have this figured out, I'm going to check the idle stop screw/throttle body and make sure everything looks hunky dory. I think the accelerator cable is also too loose.

I'm still having trouble locating this damn stop screw. Is it towards the back of the throttle body meaning it is on the firewall side or closer to the back of the throttle body meaning it is closer to the intake manifold?
