Possible Future Iowa Meet/Get together - 1/8 mile dragstrip
If anyone is interested, I have been in contact with the owner of land that happens to have a 1/8 mile drag strip on it. The drag strip hosts a couple of outlaw drags each year and the owner said that there would not be a problem with a possible private get together. The price right now is unclear but I doubt it will be too expensive. I know that some sort of liability paperwork will be drawn up and need to be signed before we are able to run on the track. I gave him a rough estimate of 25-30 cars that may be in attendance. Just wondering if anyone would actually be interested in this. I dont want to waste this guy's time or mine for that matter if no one wants to do this. I personally would prefer to run on a 1/4 mile track but this will give us the chance for multiple runs without much waiting.
OK, so ask your friends and see who would be interested in something like this. I know I would go and I can vouch for 1 or possibly 2 other cars. It doesnt have to be an RX-7 that they bring obviously.
The place is located in between Columbus Junction and Conesville (SE Iowa) and is the spot where the "Hog Wild Rodeo" and the "Thunder in the Sand" motorcycle rallies are held. Date is not set for this as of yet. The owner is currently out of the country on personal business, so it may be a couple weeks before I find out more info.
Ask any question, and if I dont know the answer, I will find out as soon as I can.

I know me and the guys at the shop would be interested in attending to see how well our cars will be performing. I can vouch for me (1) and atleast 4 others. All other Nissans though.
It doesnt matter what cars there are, I just need to know roughly how many are really interested and also how much people are willing to pay. I am sure the price would go down for more people but at the same time, the more people the longer everyone will have to wait to run again.

So, it appears that there are only MAYBE 8 cars willing to attend. I am not sure that this will be enough to be worth the trouble. If there are more people willing to do this, please speak up. The track is half hour south of Iowa City.
Its a small track yes, being only 1/8 mile. If anyone else has any ideas/options, please feel free to chime in. Also just so everyone knows, in case there were any doubts - The track has the starting light tree as well as the radar so you will know who wins, speed, and time. I have also talked to a guy I know online and he said that he and a few buddies may be interested.
SOOOO, yeah.
