(Midwest) MPH Road Course Meet: June 13th 2008

What: MPH Road Course Meet
Where: Hastings, Nebraska
When: June 13th (Friday)
Amount of people that are able to attend: 60 (30 needed)
Time: 8am to 6pm straight through (full 10 hours) (access 7am to 7pm)
Cost: $200.00
Now you might be thinking ok so what will this venture cost me? Well what we are looking at is 200 dollars per person for the whole day’s event. That’ll include your track time for the entire day, schooling by 6 professional drivers, pit area, track insurance (not car insurance for your car, it is more like insurance incase something is damaged course wise as well as helping health insurance), security at the gates, ambulance all day, fire truck all day, tow truck all day, coffee and rolls in the a.m., full staff for the course, staff for the concessions stand part of the day & rental of 13 helmets for us to share (if you have your own please bring it).

Road Course Meet Rules and Stipulations:

1. Must review tech inspection sheet and know you are able to pass, we will not refund you if you can not pass tech. the sheet has been posted so review it before agreeing to go. We do NOT need a fire extinguisher, so ignore that on the sheet.
2. Meet is either “yes” or “no” we will not be able to rely on maybes.
When you decide you are in fact able to attend and sign up you must pay your entry up front, we are not able to do pay when you get there or front anyone money.
3. During the event if you get black flagged more then once and kicked off the race course you will also not get a refund. Black flags will come if and only if you are being overly reckless or it looks as if you will cause possible harm to yourself or others.
4. If you have any questions ask before signing up. I don’t want to sign you up, get your money then we run into a problem.
5. Money will in fact be sent to myself. I do not want any money until we secure atleast 30 cars for this event. When sending money I will want your name, phone number, address (incase something happens and the event gets cancelled so I am able to issue you a refund), what forum you’re from along with your screen name on said forum all via pm. (if you have problems with trusting me I am willing to show you my I-trader account, get vouches from members of forums, other people, eBay id feedback, etc. if there is a problem please bring it to my attention and we will talk about it. I’d rather have someone ask and then attend instead of just think I will rip them off and not come out with all of us. The funds will be put into a separate savings account and more then one of us will keep track of everything. I also do not want cash; a check would be prefered so that you can track when it is cashed and such as well.

Road Course Meet Info:

Well here is the deal, I’ve wanted to race on a road course for quite some time and I know there are a lot of others out there that feel the same. Now most all of us probably haven’t got the chance nor have went felt that it was 100% needed, but how would it sound to rent a place for a day and just have a great time? Well this is what I am putting together… well to make this happen I’ve talked with 3 different track owners; Hallet, Heartland Park, and MPH… now each of these have had different prices and different things we could do. So after some thought and frustration I’ve decided that MPH is our best bet of all the three.

MPH is a track in Hastings, Nebraska just over the Kansas/Nebraska border. Drive time is pretty much the same from the Wichita area as well as the Kansas City area so no one should be able to complain about playing favorites here. Now MPH also has the best bang for the buck deal, which is that we can get some schooling (for all of us not knowing the things to do or not to do, and how to handle ourselves and cars better), helmets (although if you have your own please bring it), full day track rental, and the list just goes on.

Some of you might be thinking that the cost is a lot; well honestly it is the cheapest of all the tracks we called (HPT was more then double the cost). To also make this price happen we need atleast 30 cars registered. This means that money will need to be taken up front, so when you sign up you will need to send your money out right away. We will not be able to do any pay when you get there, or oh I might be able to go we’ll have to wait and see type of things. This will be either a “yes I am going” or a “no I am not going” type of event. I will want money only after atleast 30 cars are registered and 100% going. If we hit over 30 cars the price will stay the same since we will be having "class" along with the professional drivers that will be there for us. I also do not want any payments until we get atleast 30 cars secured. If by chance you are secured, have sent payment but need to back out. I will honestly only be able to offer up one option, if you find someone else to take your place and have them pay you (or if they pay me for you then i'll send you your money). Once the money is to me, i'll be turning it around and signing a contract that will bind us to where we are not able to get out of this. Which is why i will not be able to give out refunds so make 100% sure you are able to make this event!

Spectators are welcome to come out to the course, there will be places they are able to hang out and such. The only thing they will have to do is sign a waver so the track isn't liable for them. People will not be able to offer ride alongs either, due to legal problems that could arise on the track (ie. the driver spins out and the passenger gets hurt some how). People will how ever be able to secure a camera inside of their cars (camera may not move!) if they so desire. We might be able to take turns taking pictures at corners as long as we are supervised by corner workers.

Time on the course... we will be running in 20 minute sessions, which will equal about 8 or 9 laps for each run. We will also be split into groups of about 10 cars which will be no problem, if however we get too close to one another we will change that number of cars. Also we'll be split up in classes; based upon power, skill, aggressiveness, etc to make sure we're all driving a like in the same class. They also have a 32 car pit lane for us to be able to use so we should have no problem with being preped.

As information is fine tuned I’ll post it up and I do plan on fine tuning this but they have a down payment period which we need to get into as possible so I wanted to go ahead and post this to get the ball rolling and get people started to get interested. If there are any questions at all PLEASE tell me!!!!

Thanks for the interest! Seth
