I think the owner/manager has kinda given up on it; i dont think it is coming back

 

I live in Troy, and I think I have the only modded white FD in the area. It's always great to meet new 7 owners-- just met a few recently, Jason with a stock black FD and Trevor with a white FC. I keep seeing the guy with the Silver/ red interior FD in Rochester, but I'm never in my car at the time.

 

I'm in Northville (I-275 & 6 mile road area). I generally see about one 1st gen per year until I meet up with the RX-7 club at the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Well, somebody had a red 1st gen at the Buca De Beppo on 6 mile last week. Would have stopped to leave a note, but I was in a hurry.

I've seen a few 3rd gens on Lilly Rd /Northville Road near Hines Drive lately. Good to see some vintage rotaries in the area!

 

I may as well update my location. I have graduated from Michigan Tech, and am now a permanent (for the time being) resident of Dexter. I DD my '85 GS during the summer to work and back in Ann Arbor. If you're in Ann Arbor, I work just south of the intersection of Eisenhower and S. Industrial, in the industrial park.

I met a guy in Ann Arbor earlier this summer with a really clean 10AE TII, with a plate that said something like "RX7TIIPR". Really cool guy from Peurto Rico, can't remember his name, but I shot him an e-mail hoping that he'd register for rx7club.com.

 

Silver/red in Rochester is probably me.

 

I hope we can still get everyone together for the dream cruise. I spoke to rich (groll) last week and he said it still on. Hopefully we can get more people there earlier to take over the whole lot this year.
Does any one know the date of the cruise? If anyone has any ideas for the day we should start talking about it.

Hi Joe! I was just thinking about the Dream Cruise yesterda, and hoping the RX-7 site would still be represented.

The Cruise is August 15th.... and tell Rich thanks... Glad they are still planning to hold a spot for all the rotorheads!

There is a Tender Blue GSL in A2 with 29k miles on it. Ran into the owner and his wife on my drive home last night.

 

How much does the guy want for it?

Anyone here got a black or charcoal 1st gen? Saw one yesterday headed north on Sheldon road. Plymouth/Northville area. These are my stompin grounds and there's never any 1st gens around here!

 

There was a Black FB (GSL or a -SE, didn't see it for long enough to figure out which one, but it had a factory sunroof) that was going north on the Mackinac Bridge today at ~7:45pm. I was driving southbound in my silver FB.

 

Looking for a good mechanic in the Greater Detroit area for a 3rd gen. Any recommendations?

 

there has been alot of rx7s posted on craigslist lately, and i got some funny stories from the guy i sold my rx7 to yesterday.

 

Met a new guy named John tonight that has a GS with a factory sunroof. Car is in rough shape, but he seems like an alright kid. He's from my area, so I'm going to help him get his idle issue sorted. Also one of my Uncle's friends in Marshall just picked up a Silver base model with a maroon interior for cheap, with low miles, while helping clean out the house of his cousins' dad who passed away. I'm going to see if he wants to meet up while I'm in Marshall tomorrow.

Hi guys my uncle just gave me my first car and it is a 1988 Mazda RX7! I LOVE this car it is in great condition. I cant wait to show this thing off. i was wondering if anyone is goin to the 28th st metro cruise? if so where do people meet up with mazdas?

Haha, yeah that's me! A turbo vert? That's badass--can't wait to see it. My FD is in storage right now bc I need to replace the rear differential, so I'm driving my RX-8. Hopefully I can get the FD in working condition by the time woodward rolls around; you should definitely come to the rotary meet over there!

 

Is anyone going out to the AROC auto-x at Belle Isle on sunday (Aug 2nd)? Its not up on myautoevents.com, but its $25 for non-members, and first car out is at 11. I'll be there in the turbo 'vert

 

If anyone on here is interested I'm going to put my 88 Rex up for sale today or tomorrow on Craigslist. Its a N/a model with sunroof and auto adjusting supension and rear wiper.

It has a turbo rearend, 351 windsor V-8 swapped in with a C-4 tranny (with reversemanual valvebody and hurst shifter). Engine also has many bolt ons and holley carb. It has the grannys kit. Car ran great until 2 weeks ago it developed a knock, not sure if its coming from the head or block. I think the oil pump may be bad? (engine only has 85k miles on it), so it'll either need a rebuild or just drop in another 351 or a 302 (can get them on craigslist for 500 or less). still starts up as is. Also has 18" wheels with new tires and fiberglass front fenders. PM me or call me if interested or for more details. 248 217 9864

The rx-7 car scene here in michigan sucks big dick, as far as metro cruise you'll probably get lucky and you'll see a bunch of puerto ricans rocking out some old school rotaries, theres a guy with a GLC drag car with a rotary thats pretty crazy, i'll try to get mine out for the event but I doubt it, next year is a diff. story.
