MICHIGAN RX7 owners?
Damn - missed it..
Anyhow, I'm a new RX owner in Jenison.. Just finished (well, finished to the point of driving) a LT1/T56 swap into a 87 T2, still polishing the very rough edges but it moves (with much gusto).. Hope to get it track worthy for a HPDE at Grattan May 1st, so still scrambling to fix all the issues I am now finding (and a 22 year old car has plenty of issues!!).. Been a Miata guy for the last 7 years or so (97 Turbo and a 92 Turbo I still have) but wanted to get back into a V8 sports car, and the RX7 fit the bill perfectly. The black T2 is the 3rd, the first (I still have) had the motor pulled and some body damage so it's a parts car, the second was a rotted red 91 that got completely parted out. The T2 is a Georgia car, so rust free but was used as a track car so I am working at putting it back to streetable (HVAC/light/etc). And no, I didn't remove a rotary to do my mad scientist work, all 3 cars came pre-gutted.
Oh, If anyone is looking for FC parts, I'm cleaning out the garage from the red 91 part out and am about to start a white (blue interior) 91 part out as well, so feel free to PM me if you need something. I'll get a FS post up as soon as I get an inventory together.... I have a bunch of body parts that are miserable to ship that I would love to get out of my hair.
Hope to meet up with some of you at some point!

With all the maintenance BS I am doing soon, perhaps I can sucker.. er... invite you over to lend a hand (or just to sit and heckle, that's cool too). In the next two weeks I hope to:
Build CAI setup
Install the T2 hood
Pull rear subframe
Install all new bushing in a spare subframe and to existing suspension in front end of car
Install new diffy mounts
Install new rear subframe mounts
Install Stance GR+ coilovers, F and R
Reinstall rear subframe
Get built and swap in C4 vette aluminum driveshaft
Pull, gut, cut, sew and install blue S5 seats for 5 point harnesses and track use
Install 5 point harnesses in car
etc etc etc.
Yeah, I got lots to do prior to May 1... and that's only the RX, I still have to prep the Miata as well.

Why did I start a new project car??

Honest, I don't WANT non running cars.. it just seems like I had to buy 3 to make 1 useable one!

Hey Darrin check out the new V8 RX-7 GXL I just picked up last week. I also have another 88 GTU that I bought a month ago thats N/a with a header and exhaust as a daily driver. I sold the Supra I had.

Have you gotten the RX-7 I sold you to run any better or done anything else to it?
In case any of you need some body panels or a 91 roller, I'm cleaning out the garage.. check the post here: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...62#post9175462
I'm motivated, so if you see something you like, shoot me a reasonable offer.. I want this stuff out of my hair.
Thanks!

Anyone in the GR area have an FC with aftermarket seats that I could sit in?
Trying to figure out how to stuff 6'3" and 230 pounds of me into a car with a helmet 'comfortably'.... I've got stock 88 seats gutted (no lower pad, just sitting on the springs) and it's not really enough, I still rub my helmet on the roof a touch..
Let me know, I could use some help and would love to sit in a car with some aftermarket seats installed for rererence.

if you don't mind losing the ability to slide the seat, you can just make custom brackets to bolt the seat directly to the floor in a comfortable position. Getting rid of the slider rails will give you another inch or so in height and possibly 1 or two in leg room, depending on how you position the seat.
Are there any meets coming up? Since MIrotary is and has been down, i've been a bit out of the local 7 action.
