If you're talking about the ice races that I posted about, then no I don't think so.

Join up at the Furrin Goup website and you can ask on our forum there if you like. Great way to keep up to date on local events too. http://furrin.org/

The Corvette club is hosting an Auto-x in the Detroit area at their usual venue, the Cadillac assembly plant near Hamtramck (Poletown) on April 17th. I'm definitely planning to be at this one!:
http://myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmE...event_id=12303

In addition, the Detroit Region SCCA is holding an auto-x school on thursday, April 28th (classroom) and Saturday, April 30th (driving, Belle Isle) if anyone's interested. Unfortunately, I can't make this one, my SO's birthday is the 29th & she ends classes the 28th, so we'll be out celebrating that.

If I wasn't heading for Atlanta at the end of the month I'd give consider a drive to the East side of the state. But I think I'll have more fun at the Mitty event.

Thanks for posting the info!

Next race is coming up. This one is at the race track south of GR, and is well known for it's lenght and speed. A very fun course! This one always fills up, so register soon if you think you can make it.

Western MI region SCCA is having an autocross at MSU Sat and Sunday for $35 for both days for scca members... or might want to check out the one day if you are doing the 131 event.

The race is on Sunday. The event page says 8:30 am setup day of the race. Did Curt say we could get in early to setup? I would think they have drag racing Saturday night.

I will be there in something. Probably not in one of the 7s though.

This event would be so much better if they could combine two lots. The lot that they use is so tiny! The last time I went I think the times were in the 30 second range.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmVL7oRmZJ8

When Furrin Group runs there, we combine two lots and better than double the size of the course. I think they have to be a bit more strict on the clearance rules though, since they are officially SCCA and all that.

How did the rotary contingent end up Sunday?

I was co-driving the D stock burgundy e36 BMW 325i (the driver that did not spin out). I pulled off a 70.2. Does anyone know if I won PAX? I had to leave early.
Did anything else exciting happen at the event?
Did everyone like the course?

Loved the course Jeff!

Nothing else out of the ordinary happened after you left. A few spins, but no explosions or violent deaths (that we are admitting to, anyway).

I would be very surprised if you did not with Pax. I can't believe how fast you got that old box around the course! An excellent example of what good tires can do for you, I would imagine.

I managed a 73.3 on my final run (after a DNF, a 75.1, and then a 74.1). That was top honors in CSP, and the fastest of the rotaries. And what the heck was that Lotus thingy doing in CSP? That was a bit confusing, but I did get him so I don't mind. He took 2nd.

Rotor-motor took 3rd (using my car)
New guy Jeff with the RX8 took 4th
Joe (purchased Rotor-dogg's car last month) brought up the rear.

Thanks. I just worked on the last half and fixed the front half a little after it seemed a little busy when trying a drive through. A few people wanted to run out on the back but we still have to keep speeds somewhat down. There were a lot of novices so it was a good choice.

I am jonesing to see the PAX results to see how I did. I got to the sweeper, by the fence, on my first run and I was glowing to Matthew about how good the car felt. I was amazed at how that old beemer did. It transitioned smoothly and had no bad handling characteristics. It only felt under powered coming out of the turn around. Matthew was really pushing the car and I kept telling him to be smooth. The tires were old and undersized but they stuck pretty well. I may want to shop for a manual BMW now. They eat tires due to lack of camber in Stock class but it was a fun car for a big sedan.

I was there when Curt was trying to find a class for him pretty much decided someone was going to be mad with it in their class. So think he just picked CSP and threw him in.

Yeah, it was fine having him in CSP (the Lotus thingy), I think it was a good spot for him.

I think 3rd place was something like 10 seconds behind him, but he didn't walk away from the entire class so I figure it was a fair fight. Curt probably knew I wouldn't mind anyway. But man, I'd love to throw those wheels/tires on my car for a few minutes!
