Michigan autocross 2-day event: 8/8-9
Hey guys, anyone close to Michigan should check this one out. Great location to hang out for a weekend, and great people to play with. Already got a few RX7s registered.
The race is in Lansing, so it's pretty central to anyone in Michigan, and will run Saturday and Sunday. Run one day, or get a $5.00 discount for running both days. Cost is only $20.00, and we've got loaner helmets available.

Who wants to come out and play with us?

We did it before, so I don't see any reason not to do it again. Worked great in my opinion, and I'll be there to help set up the course, so I'll do what I can.

Hey, it was really great seeing you guys out there! Thanks a bunch for showing up.
Topless, it looked like your car handled very well. I was very impressed at the performance of your vert.
For those who could not make it, here's a final update.
Rotaries ruled at this event. We had about 20% of the field on Saturday, and 15% on Sunday. That's a whole lot of apex seals, and not one of us had a single breakdown!!!

I had a phenomenal last run on Sunday, beating cars I had no business playing with. lol. My car made me look like a God! I'll have some in car video later. I have come to realize that my car is basically waiting up for me to attain the skills to use it to its fullest potential. It was a very educational weekend. Not only did I not get beat by a Miata on Sunday, but I had a better time than a supercharged Miata on fat race rubber!!! It was driven by three people, and I got in ahead of all of them. The owner/driver was actually my instructer at a driving class I took last month and he said he was happy it was me that beat him. lol
But more than anything else, what I want to say is THANK YOU BILLY!!!! I asked for a car that could win, and still be driven to work every day, and you came through in spades.

Thanks a lot, it certainly was a lot of fun! The 'vert does ok for itself, it was only really let down by the nut behind the wheel who kept coning or throwing her into the box before the crossover and sweeper before the end way too hot. There was definitely another second or two out there for the picking, I'm just not good enough to get the most out of the tires yet.
That being said, the megasquirt's progressive boost control (TPS-based boost targets) made the rear end much more planted at up to 12 psi than it was at the stock 6 when it would hit all at once. I need to get a bias valve for the rear brakes, they lock up a bit before the fronts with the new rubber on, and once thats done I can add a little bit more oversteer back into the setup, either thru rear camber, dropping the front end a little bit, or spring rates when I finally get konis/GC springs.

I was wondering why you didn't seem to be dealing with that sudden overpowering surge of power like most turbo cars. You didn't look dramatic, just smooth and fast. I hope you can make it to some more events.
Did you check out those pics yet? There's one of Hecubus84 checking your car out while wearing a rotary themed T shirt. Now that's cool! :0
