So then July 6th, to give everyone a couple weeks to ask off from work. Add me to the list as well. I'm writing up an event for us, seeing as how it doesn't sound like much of a plan so far.

I need some input on the whole thing, mostly the nutritional aspect. Does everyone want to attack a shitton of five-dollar pizzas? Make a rotary pilgrimage to a buffet after meeting at the park?

Also, this is a great opportunity to swap parts if you can communicate with the attendees beforehand and have everyone show up with the parts/cash, set to go, no shipping costs, no bullshit. That said, does anybody have a 13B header they're looking to get rid of? Am also interested in adjustable shocks, aftermarket 4-114 wheels, and 14" tires (performance or non, 80% or more tread).

Let me know what everyone thinks, I'm hoping for a great event.

 

im down for july 6th, i think its a Sunday.

and for the food, my vote would be to eat at the park. we can order pizza like Liltoflm said or cook some hot dogs and hamburgers. either way is fine with me.

I have arrived in Manhattan, but wont be able to make it on the 22nd, still have to setup picking up my car. Busy buying a house right now.

so we are meeting at Shawnee Mission Park on June 22nd and July 6th.

the meet on June 22nd will be at 1:00 pm, still don't have a shelter were meeting at and not sure what were doing on food. i guess we can plan something big food wise on July 6th and just eat what ever you want before the meet on the 22nd.

does that sound good?

my car isn't going to look real good at the meet, paint is horrible and i have a big dent on my right front fender lol but hey at least its running.

 

i think that sounds perfect lx machado, so were set then. probably wont be many there on the 22nd but at least we'll know each other for the 6th. hope to see a lot there though and make sure you eat before you come on the 22nd then!

i have never been to SMP so i dont know what shelters are good, so if any one has been and likes a certain one let us know, if not then we will just pick a random one, like Shelter #7 lol

I was going to say, yes, definitely 8. Reservations are way too expensive, but there's plenty of parking where we can chill even if someone else has an event going on in the shelter itself. There's a little walking trail back behind the lot that goes down to the lake, as well. So eat or bring your own food for the 22nd, more informal of a meet, and those of us who're there for both meets can discuss what to do for the 6th. It'd be great to put some ideas together for the event, like raffling off a part, entry fee/door prize, mini-car show with awards, just something to beef it up. We can make a new thread for the 6th event after the 22nd goes down and we've done some brainstorming on it. Hope we have a good turnout, I'll make some calls and see who I can magnetize.

 

For the 6th count on 3 to the total number....will let some locals know and see if interested.

 

I think poweredby13b (Brian) and myself are going to get his car running real soon, if not I'll try to get him to come anyway. I'm also trying to get Brent form Mazda to join us this weekend.

I'd think 1 PM would be a good time for the 6th, as well. Suggestions on it being later/earlier? For everyone that shows up on the 22nd, I'm sure we'll be discussing plans for the 6th meet, which can show up on the site as a new thread once we have a solid plan. For now we can just say 1 or "past noon."
