MI Lapeer Dragway 2008 July 13th Imports vs Domestics

That's right, it's the first ever Imports versus Domestics at Lapeer Dragway in Lapeer, MI. Vinnie and the rest of Team Domestic are already celebrating their win even though the event hasn't started yet, so let's go out there and show them that Team Import has what it takes to take the win!

btw - if there's any questions on the event, or if you want to caravan with, pm me. We'll be leaving from Kettering University in Flint, MI around 9:15 AM. Gates open at 9:30, track is hot at 11am, and eliminations will start at 1pm. If you get eliminated, you get to continue running in between elimination rounds.

Good luck!

I'm a little interested...I'll keep it in mind.
FYI - I've owned and raced every manufacturer....the domestics WILL win this.

Sounds like a good time, if my car is running right that weekend. How much is this thing going to cost? What do I need to race(helmet, roll bar,...)?

I don't know, in bracket racing, anything's possible . Come on out, it's not just about beating them, though, it's more about having a good time. I give Team Import a 50% chance at this event of taking a win.

Cost is probably gonna be $40 - $45 for the day. You can get in lots of time trials that morning which makes it worth it, plus if you're elim'd, you can run whenever they're not running elimination rounds until closing. Helmet and roll bar depend on your times, do you know your ET? If not, is the car stock or close-to? What kind of car are you looking to bring?

Helmet isn't req'd slower than 15's, but I'd recommend it, and you can rent one for $5 or borrow one of mine if need-be. Are you going to be remotely close to mid-12's?

I haven't had my car to the track yet but I think I'll do better than 15. If I can find the little boost leak I have, I think I'll be about 350rwhp. Maybe someone with a little experience can guess about the time? I hope it's near 12.

You'll need a helmet, no cage (unless you have a convertible) iirc, but look up their rules at www.lapeerdragway.com since while it might meet the NHRA req's, the individual track's sometimes set stricter rules.
