Kansas City "Drive in the Country" Cruise - October 29th
Kansas City "Drive in the Country" Cruise - October 29th
Hey everyone! My name is Pete, and I don't own an RX-7 (almost bought one, but ended up with a TTZ instead), but I've talked to a couple of you before at other meets and a track day or two... Thought you guys might be interested in coming to a cruise that the local Z Club is hosting on October 29th.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 29th. The local Heart of America Z Car Club will be hosting a "Drive in the Country" Cruise on the 29th. It is not exclusive to Z cars. We will be sending out invites to the local NICO (Nissan / Infiniti Car Owners) Club, the painfully inactive KC MR2 Club, the local NSX Club, RX-7 Club (that's you
), and possibly some Elises, Corvettes, etc. We're hoping for a large tunout of all kinds of sports cars!
That is also the first day back on Standard time - turn your clocks BACK one hour on Saturday night the 28th of October. More info to follow after the route has been driven (to be accomplished this Sunday). Once this is done, the meeting place and time will be posted. The route should involve plenty of twisties, and possibly a tour of an old, closed racetrack (if we are allowed access to it). It should be a great time!
We will meet at 9:00 am on Sunday, 10/29 at the Red Robin parking lot on the North side of Highway 40, just East of I-470. Route directions will be handed out and cars can get under way around 9:30. This is NOT a Race or Rally, just a drive in the country on some twisty, curvy roads with some straights thrown in. Only directions to follow, no questions to answer. May need a navigator with you and a working odometer or trip odometer. This may be one of the last events of the year for people to get involved in before the weather forces many of us to put our obsessions back into the garage to hibernate for the winter!
Hope to see many of you there!

KC 7 club has been down for quite some time.
I'm interested though.
Do you have a thread on www.kcsr.org yet ? You'll probably get a good turn out from that crowd.

no ricers, and it's a pretty tight community, and we drift so twistys would def. be welcomed

]No offense to you, but it just seems that the general consensus with the "drifting" crowd is that they tend to crash a lot and look retarded. That may not be the case with that forum, and I may just be a stereotypical *******, but I just don't want anyone to wreck on a cruise my pops planned--nor do I want anyone else's vehicle in danger.
Kyle, we'd love to see you out in the M. Convince Art to bring out the FD or the Esprit too.
Speaking of which, how's your shoulder? (At least I think it was your shoulder... Sorry. Been a long time since I talked to ya.
) And about the "nig" in my name... I hope you're kidding because that's ridiculous.
