Does anyone recommend any rotary shops around iowa? or nearest possible. Thinking on having my renesis dowel pinned. Also how hard is it to take apart and put back a engine? im quite patient but how complicated is it with all them seal springs and what not?

Never done a renesis but it cant be much harder than a "regular" rotary. Piece of cake.

Yeah man, multiple reasons on why.
Gonna install new upgraded coils, water pump, radiator, shave bay, respray, check turbo mani, upgraded oil pan. And many more. Im gonna try to get a clutch and a flywheel so i can install them on too and not bother with them for a while. Also have to do injectors and i might do my e85 fuel system swap.
About that fuel system, anyone know a good fuel management? can't seem to find much info on the Rx8 club.

I really do hope to get it done before your meet Eric

Also... Ian you going to the Deals Gap meet in april? thought i saw your name on the list. ill be heading up with a few other guys hopefully.

so times for a meet?

I'm thinking late Feb or early march, it will still be cold but hopefully not so bad we cant at least go out and look under some hoods etc.

Do any of these weekends conflict with anyone?

2/21 - 2/22
2/28 - 3/1
3/7 - 3-8

to sweeten the deal:

I will provide all the food/drinks so no one need bring anything unless they are a vegetarian lol

(if Rob is able to make it down from Des Moines, there will be sanitary napkins provided as well)

LOL your quite ambitious.

unless the rx8 engines castings are alot weaker or your going to make ungodly power no need to dowel pin or rebuild your motor.

Look into a haltech for management

as for "E85 fuel swap" just make sure your fuel system can support 30 percent more fuel and that's all you need to do.......

Closer to spring would be best for me, but it all depends on getting car done.

Seen a few people crack theirs already, and is 500 godly? with 10.5 compression rotors? lol

I have a microtech, every other management system has some issue with the rx8 idk why.

And for e85, well you have to make sure your fuel pump, lines, and rails wont get eaten by the ethanol. right now gonna run 380, 1000 and 280 p2 i believe. So will see how the stock pump does

I'm willing to bet it's due to preignition/knock and not power lvls.

Doing it not hard. Doing it reliably is.

If you have a microtech why are you asking for fuel management systems?

No reason a haltech can't work. The community follows trends... so if the first pioneers are in microtech the majority of ppl go with the tried/tested route.

Fuel rails will get eat'n? God for bid you get gas on your hands....

But if you plan on running e85 with a single turbo your stock pump will not flow enough.
