Hello Chicagoans
Hello, this is my first post so I just wanted to introduce myself and my 79 RX-7. I've owned her for a almost a year, shes been locked away in my garage. I obtained her from my neighbor who gave up on her after the electrical system started acting up. Specs are as follows: 85 13B swap with mild street port, 650 Holley, Holley Fuel pump,85 GSL-SE rear end and VDO gauges. The car hasn't been started in about 8 months, Iam getting parts together to overhaul most of the electrical and hopefully have her back on the road by the spring. Iam not new to RX-7's but this is my first modified rotary. I have owned 2 FB's a few years ago but they were bone stock.

Thanks guys, I am really trying to get this car rolling. I have the money and the resources but no f@#$ing time. Iam by Humbolth Park but the car is stored in Wrigleyville. I have 2 other friends of mine with 79's we want to get a SA22 club going but the rotary scene in Chicago is almost non-existant. I see a bunch of FC'S but its a bunch of idiots with Initial D stickers trying to dominate the local JEWEL parking lot. My plans are to keep it looking as stock as possible. Hopefully I can meet other serious rotor heads in Chicago and maybe have few meets and a bbq or two in the summer that would be really cool.

Nice 1st gen! The Chicago group is a strange bunch because there are quite a few rotaries out here, but they're all too busy to hangout...but whatever. Hopefully we'll see you rolling around the area!

Thanks! I hear you I work like crazy and I barely have any time to myself let alone to work on my car. I just started having Sunday's off which is going to be sweet! I have met some other mazda heads, but I heard stories of people rx's getting jacked and people getting burned by local rotary mechanics. I just said **** it Iam doing this thing on my own. If anybody knows a mechanic name PAPO please drop me a line! He still has my motor out of my old 84 GSL, an autometer tach and 250 bucks of mine.

Manolo closed his shop down, its a manufacturing shop now. He was a very good mechanic, thats where I met that **** PAPO! Yeah about 3 of my buddies had there FB'S stolen. They all turned up around the Humbolth Park area. They just seem to be interested in the motors and rear end, everything else usually is left on the car.

Yeah Iam a Home Theater Geek I've done installs since I was 17 with Best But and Magnolia Home Theater. I worked with Comcast as well as cable technician but working out in the weather sucked. I have recently become very interested in car audio so I have kind off a barter apprenticeship going on. I am getting trained in mobile audio while I teach my mentor how to do home theater. I am digging car audio but Home Theater is where the money is at. Sure thing Railgun if you need any help feel free to ask.
