Hello out there, announcing the first Cedar Rapids RX-8 meet! We're planning on getting together as many 8's, 7's and other Mazdas together as we can for a friendly little get together. Here are the tentative plans, subject to change:

Jones Park, upper or lower pavilion, Cedar Rapids, IA
Saturday, Sept. 13th start meeting up around 11am?
There are grills at the pavilions, sign-up list for food?
Meet and greet 11-12
Grill and Eat 12-2
Pics and cruise 3-5
Movies or games after?

This is all subject to change of course, I'm just trying to get the ball rolling and I'll edit this post until the information is finalized. Looking forward to a good meet, hopefully we can find a place for some pics as cool as the Capital building pics!! I need to start scouting locations and maybe find a better park for the pics. Palisades has a really cool little limestone pavillion thing, but I think you have to pay for it, not sure. Jones has a frisbee golf course, maybe we could have a little doubles best shot or something there. There's also a brand new park in Hiawatha right off the interstate that has a frisbee golf course too.

id go but my fd is still getting motor done and if it is running it wont have a tune till this fall maybe ill drive up anyways in my lil truck?

Sounds good man, it should be a good turn out. Possibly 6+ rx8s, a few 6's and 3's. Now just need a few of you guys there.

There is a turbo Protege, and FC on the list.
Also Local Mazda Dealer will be coming with new R3, and/or other mazdas
