Any good tuners Midwest, Illinois Area?

I am looking for someone who can tune my e6k. I would prefer a flat rate. But I can tune the car for drive ability wise. I am also hoping you wouldn't mind if I watched, since I am in the learning process.

I am a 6 port turbo motor, with t3/t4 .60trim hybrid. (Turbo will be set up different soon.)
680cc/1000cc small street ported motor, 3" turbo back.

I am hoping not to drive hours away. I am located in Aurora, Illinois. So if you know anyone around the area let me know. St. Louis is quite a drive.

I go to Shook Motorsports in Rockford, IL. He's a great guy, has his own dyno, and he did wonders with my E11v2. He mainly does rotary's, but does other vehicles, too. Flat rate of $700 for a full tune, plus I believe he offers a cheaper re-tune price if you upgrade your turbo or something small like that. Check it out: http://shookmotorsports.com/Tuning His phone number is at the bottom of the page, along with E-mail

Banzai Racing would be another option, but not sure how close to you they are...

Jorge @ P&L Motorsports in Chicago. 450 for 2 hours and I think 150 an hour after the two are up but if you have a good base map to work off of then you'll only need the two hours. If you take it there you will thank me later, AMAZING tuner!

I would second Jorge, as he has done a few cars for me and I've known him for a few years now. However, I spoke with Jorge about my car and he hasn't really gotten into rotaries yet so he didn't seem to feel too comfortable. I will probably be down by him Monday so i will talk to him about it, but again he does great work.

Yes he would tune a Haltech. I've talked to him when I was getting my tune and my brother was too cause he was going to do a Haltech on his turbo 2 and wanted to see if he was interested in tuning it and said he was fully capable of it. I would trust Jorge with anything, he is the only tuner I will ever let touch any of my cars, whether it's a subaru or a rx7.

A-spec is out of the question, They said they won't touch e6k with a 10' pole.

Banzai is a drive, I have 2 people in mind now.

I'm hesitant on someone who hasn't tuned a rotary since the trailing map/split timing. I understand the ignition part. Ryan is one of my choice.

Geez... A-spec seems like a bunch of elitists. They wont touch an E6K... I remember calling them a while back and asking about upgrades they could do to my FC. The impression I got, from our brief phone conversation, was that if it wasn't an FD it wasnt worth their time.

Lol, elitists, FC, FD, corolla, car type isn't the issue. As for the E6K we tuned and ran them for awhile, I had one in my car years back, most of the time the software is buggy and have connectivity issues and such. They can be good ECU's, however It's not something we like to deal with. If you want my opinion, take it to a rotary tuner that will tune your E6K, not George (no disrespect I know him and he is a good guy) or any other place that isn't familiar with the platform. I have a RX8 turbo here right now that was taken to a non-rotary shop that was "capable" and three days later the car ate both rotors. At this point that leaves you Chris at Banzai, he's about the only other somewhat local rotary guy I know who is consistent with level of as well as numbers of rotaries tuned.
