represent the rotary at a v8 gathering? (7 Not Stock car show - Davenport, Iowa)
Hiya hiya,
Just wanted to tip you off that a bunch of rx7 swappers are all getting together in Davenport IA on August 13-15 for an event we call Seven Not Stock. I thought I'd post up and ask if anyone here wanted to attend. It's a perfect chance to represent the triangle in the endless rotary vs. v8 debate. We'll have a drag race Friday night, dyno Saturday, and autocross Sunday (plus lots of beer and food). Who's got the sauce to get it done?
Expect friendly competition but I know most of the folks coming and other than some mild ribbing we all know that a fast car is a fast car.

Don't mind the title of the new web forum (v8rx7forum.com was shut down after a fight with the owner) all cars are welcome and I'd love to see a couple hot rotaries come out... Hell, show up in your Honda if you you want to check out some cool cars and hang. RSVP and hotel info is in the link above.
-Joel
PS I suspect folks will be willing to give ride alongs if you've never gotten to experience a v8 swap first hand.

I would love to come, but that is a drive. You guys need to get this rolling, and show them boys what their missing. I would miss the smell of the exhaust alone. Just to smell that exhaust and know I put a V8 in my 7 would make me go home and cry myself to sleep on my pink pillow.

Bummer... This was starting to sound interesting. You've got three weeks left, you can do it!
I'm trailering out from California with the family so I'll certainly have basic tools with me.

How many are planning on attending this event?
My car is not NHRA legal, so drag racing is out for me and my friend.
I would be interested in dyno time to tune our cars, friend is upgrading to a GT47??r.
He should end up with close to 1000rwhp.

Good news... Jesse White is the main point of contact for where we'll be when.
Copying a bit of info from the other site...
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The itinerary is as follows:
Drag racing starts Friday night at 6pm. Gates open at 5:30. It usually takes half an hour to get there from the hotel.
Dyno starts at noon on Saturday and will run until 3-4. We will grab a dinner and head to the car show around 5-6.
SCCA racing registration starts at 9am and goes until 10:15am. Racing starts at 10:30am.
No pre-registration is needed for anything mentioned above.
My cell 563-529-4409 I will be available on Friday after noon to meet up with folks and get things rolling for the weekend.
Bring a helmet if you want to race in either event.
