Those 4 people know each other pretty well by now so we usually just plan a cruise via cell phone. The big Hooters meets of the past are long gone; now it's downtown lunches, gun ranges, and dusk top speed runs on the highway....but...it's like we're friends. Almost

Yeah. I got your PM. The issue I have with your offer, and not that I don't appreciate it, is that you say you're leaving. I need more long term commitment.

I'm not giving up on the idea. Hell...I've been working on a new site, forum and gallery for RC3 for the last month or so. It's not a priority and I'm the only one working on it so it'll be done when it's done. As far as participation...you can only have an empty parking lot for so long before you sell...so to speak.

Gotcha. I'm not trying to irritate any of the senior members or anything. I just didn't like how the idea of a meet was mildly (if at all) being discouraged. In fact, I played your role when I tried to gather 3rd Gen Eclipses together for the Auto Show. I voiced my doubts about meet participation and thought that the easiest venue to gather people would have been an automotive event. And sure enough, I tried to get a meet together and nobody came. So I see where you're coming from.

In regards to helping you out, the offer stands. Although I'm leaving in June, the Chicago area will always be the place where I grew up and I'll have strong connections here 'til I die. Besides--you can always email digital files.

I'd venture to say that most of the ones interested in this meet are new 7 owners, like myself. Just another good reason to get together--broaden our knowledge and familiarity.

I think people dont show up because people want to be able to do more than just cruise with their 7, I'm all for the dusk top speed runs haha. Late nigth all the way IMHO. I bet you everyone on here would show if there was a late night auto X or soemthing of the sort , makes it way more worth while to come out when it is exciting and more than just, "Hey sweet FD, yeah you too man wow , yeay wow.........sooo whats up...?? ummm oh umm i gotta new air freshner ooohh sweet! Yeah!....kool koool....yeah so umm......are those new wheels!?!...no no...um thier from last year a set of BF goodridges.....oh.... well I'll be over here checkin otu this other FD...okay yeah kool...." I mean sure the convs are not that bad...at least i hope they are not, I mean Ive gone to a civic meet or two with a friend a coupel of times and yeah meeting new peopel is nice and it was fun. But it gets old...Thats why Music and food need to be involved...or soem more excitment other than line crusing in FDs. But none the less I will come! I think march 30th is a biiiit early though, seriously. The weather will still be *** lets do mid april. better chances of better weather. But around 8 sound sgood to me, maybe even 7 for some outdooe food cooking?

However, just like the cruise route, some things best left unposted. BBQ, food, music, cars, girls, explosions, midgets, circus clowns. It all sounds like fun to me.

Well with our club we always have a successfull gathering. We usually tend to have up to ten people turn out. And sometimes we even meet up with some different car clubs, which is always fun. Also we have fun cruises, go to bars, and resturaunts. Go for some photo shoots around town, etc. Well as far as the date its still a far long time before its here, but I'll see from what people's opinion is and it may always change by the time of the meet.

That thing's a POS.

On the meet note...I have always asked what everyone wants to do. I don't do auto-x, and I don't know much about it other than it's a mini road course... So if someone wants to set that up...fine, but I can't do it all myself. There's no possible way. I said this last year too. Everyone always has something to say about what they wanted to do after the fact or a complaint about what's not happening but they do NOTHING about it. This certainly isn't a one man show.

I had a little excursion at US 41 last year that no one showed. Had a thing at Gingerman in Oct that 4 including myself showed to. The countless that didn't go to the Rev (weather issues not withstanding)

So this is it I think. I'm up for doing anything that people want to do.

I feel like a broken record.

In the words of Uncle Wankel...

By the way wasn't there a DJ on this forum or something, in this midwest thread? I'm sure a DJ would be willing to drag some of his equipment out for a fun night hahaha. Though how woudl we power it is another question and not get noise complaints.

I WILL TOTALLY BRING THE CONES and help set up a small track, we just need to do it legally in large parking lot where cops can't bust our asses for anything. Plus I think a small road course is a bit safer then a track with sand pits and walls here and there. Then again the light post argument is valid....none the less there are tons of lots with no lights so it shoudl be okay. I can't exactly help find a spot becasue I dont live in chicago but up here in Chilly milwaukee.

Isn't that the RX-8 Group event?

Wasn't that cancelled?

And I just realized...your Sears Tower in your sig is tapered. Not supposed to be.
