I can count the amount of FDs I've seen in the past year on one hand, and still have a finger left over to pick my nose. I say fu*k the guys that don't care or don't know anything. I think there's a handful of us here who are willing to get together for a meet, no?
is anyone have a 1979-1985 mazda rx-7 for sale or knows of a person who has one for sale in the chicago-land area, please email me cpuertoricanpa9@aol.com

I am a relative noob here, but I think there are some other new people who seem to be willing to get together. I don't think we should rule out a meet just because members were unwilling in the past. Let's plan this meet, take count of how many show, and go from there.
Well Im still waiting to set a date. Just a reminder this is still on
. I have posted the cruise on the first page change may apply before the day comes, and share any ideas for the cruise if you guys like. Also since I haven't mentioned its all rotor welcome. Which we will be seeing the EVOLV-Chicago members from the Rx-8 Club too.

Yeah, there are three down this way that I know of for a fact including you and I. There used to be four, but he sold for an NSX. Most live in the NW burbs and the rest scattered about from Chicago to St. Charles. There used to be an honorary RC3 member in IA, but he sold. There's one in Elkhart, IN, but he hasn't come out yet...but he will.
When I took this club over, I had 130 on the mailing list. Obviously there weren't nearly that many active members. When the old forums were up, I had 40 registered. Of course...again...there weren't nearly that many active. However, at the A-Spec BBQ in '04 we had a helluva turnout. There were a couple viper guys and some other scattered, but had keynote come up from Indy, bricke from IA, clockwork....something or another from MI...it drew a crowd. I don't know what happened, but last year was non existant. The BBQ in the spring didn't have quite the turnout, but still good. This year is the year of the resurrection. Don't ask me how cause I sure as hell can't do this alone...but with all the track events I'm mapping out and tying us into other club events it should be a lot more active than years past.
As far as the route planning....you NEVER post a route publicly. Why should be obvious...but since some of you are new...
Some of the 7 community likes to drive above all else. And drive we do. Some of those like to drive at a much quicker pace than others. This is a well known thing. That being the case, the popo may paruse these forums looking for exactly that. It's a long shot at times, but by that, you now have a potential trap set for everyone...and that's bad. Every route that we've taken has been known before hand, but not disseminated until the meet. Just a FYI for future reference.
More official club news coming down the pipe soon.

As for the cruise, i'd prefer we keep that low profile as well. Too many times the cruise is more about being stressed with trying to keep with the group, a lot of traffic, taking forever to get started or all of the above. I miss having just a relaxing cruise without having to deal with a lot of **** (hard to find I know)
Hell, maybe i'll have another BBQ this year (turnout last year wasn't too bad..or was that two years ago..); at least thats relaxing =D
BTW tom, your motor still holding up? I'm at the 98k mile mark and still goin strong.

I'd be down for this. It would be my first Chicago Rx7/rotary event. My car may be having some work done at the time but who knows it may be ready. Are most of you guys FDs?

I'd be in for this too. Been to a couple of A-Spec events that have been a good time. Keep me posted. I'm in Plainfield and would be happy to join in. Has anyone picked a date yet?
I'm still in favor of a late night meet. Does anyone know anyone that owns a fairly large parking lot? Someone with a business or something that we could set up a late night AUto X course? I think that woudl be fun as hell, FD only Auto X late at night anyone? With a BBQ and some music? Maybe someone knows someone from soldier field?
