Windows XP and Microtech

2 part question. Ok here is the deal, I have a LTX-12 and I am now trying to connect it to my laptop, But the thing is it does not want to connect. So my first question is: Can you connect to the LTX-12 with a laptop running Windows XP Pro?
In case you are wondering the laptop is a DELL 2.0 ghz, 256mb Ram, Celeron, 60gb HD,
I configured the port and it connects using Com 2, I have also tried Com 1. I also have the Laptop Adapter from Microtech, When I try to connect to the LTX from the laptop it tells me "No Connection" and this is with the laptop adapter in place. When I connect to it Without the Adapter, It does connect but of course it wont read the data because the adapter is not connected. Now my second question is: If it connects without the adapter does that mean the adapter might be bad?
Oh and the software version I have is 1.1

i have two laptops, one has win98 and one has xp, for xp i can't seem to install it, it always come up illegal program and freezes my comp and it restarts, it sucks because the comp with win98 needs to be pluged in and the one with winXP is battery operated.

sometimes while installing it, it would pop up "missing file" so yeha that sucks.

OK well I got it to connect but, on a diffrent laptop with win 98, so that means everything works. I did go to www.microtechefi.com and downloaded the MT software version from there and tried to connect with the xp laptop and still no connection. I guess I'll stick to the laptop with win 98.
All I can say Is this MT kicks ***. We took out the E6K and replaced it with this LTX-12 and what a diffrence!
